Pyrite i read some of the starting of the link you have given. In simple words the times are in Unix time instead of the present time?

Pretty much, yeah. Almost all times are recorded in unix time rather than regular time, simply because you don't need any dates from before 1970. :P
 
January first, 1970 at midnight, can be represented by the time stamp value of zero. When byte values are not filled in, they tend to default to zero. The threads you speak of possess a blank time field, resolving to 1970.
