The Tale of Ronin - Part 1 v.2

Description
This is a remake of the first chapter of The Tale of Ronin, a (unfinished) cinematic series I once made. I was watching The Last Samurai when I remembered those cinematics, and i wanted to do something with them again. Instead of making a part 3 I remaked the first one. The original one is still here on The Hiveworkshop, so you could compare it with this one.

Background Story
The cinematic sets in ancient Pandaria. It has been exactley 400 years since the great war between Pandaria and it's neighboring country Heidiadoko ended. Pandaria emerged victorious, and since then Heidiadoko has been a state of anarchy and civil war.

For 400 years it has been quiet in Pandaria. As in each year, the Festival of the Dragon starts again. During the festival the Emperor of Pandaria; Xi'an, visits the Sacred Dragon Shrines that are located in towns thoughout Pandaria, to pray that the Sun Dragon Wen Long protects Pandaria for another year. For time immemorial, he did. But this year will be different. The Kitharai are on the move...

- Made some minor terrain changes
- Added some new camera's
- Fixed some typos (Thanks to Septimus)
- Made a minor change to the loading screen text
- Updated the credits (forgot sum1's name)

Linaze: Quite entertaining cinematic with lots of samurai action. The terrain is quite good even though the forest could use some more environmental doodads to look more lively. The camera work is decent but could be improved a bit by adding more camera movement instead of instantly switching between two cameras. The battle scenes aren't that impressing but they are still "approvable". Finally, the map presentation is quite nice even though it wouldn't hurt to add some screenshots (in hidden tags).

Approved with a 3/5 (useful) rating.

wow, that was a really nice cinematic.

1) terrain was very good
2) when the ronin defends the dojo, and the ninjas appears, one has a wrong facing
3) in the same scene (like 2) ) when the ronin died, one of the ninjas stopped during his attack animation
4) credits were given
5) fitting music, but the scene in the house, the music is hard to hear
6) maybe adding some animals in the forest?
7) in the loading screen text is a bit bugged. look at it, and you'll know what I mean

awesome cinematic. I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking for the next parts.
but maybe you could do sth on the filesize. I know, it's not important for an cinematic, but I'm sure, that you have many unused models from the UTM.

1) Description - Good detail was provided, but the packaging could be far better.

2) Terrain & Fog - The fog are good, so does the terrain. Even though the forest could be more lively.

3) Camera & Scripting - The scripting seems to lack of a few basic setup and was poorly done at some aspect. Rendering the camera to move poorly at the beginning of the cinematic and run through a house.

Infact, I notice the camera switch to this position and wait for 3-5 seconds before a transmission appear.

Also, it was a rather bad idea to use camera 0.00 seconds too frequently when you make a character talk for a long duration. Make it move around slow and nicely is far better than instant switch.

Some camera angle was badly chosen as well especially the scene of ninja trying to backstab the ronin. The camera show the body from the upper chest till bottom, but not the head.

4) Animation & Special Effect - The sfx usage was acceptable and not abusive and the animation seems to be alright (But I could be wrong because I was too busy paying attention to dialog).

5) Music & Sound - Music seems to fit the theme, so does the sound effect goes.

6) Replayability - The replayability was between lacking to average. However, do not put a high hope into this cinematic if you are a fans of battle cinematic as the battle scene was very dissappointing.

At first, I thought the battle scene would be awesome based on some of the user opinion about the cinematic and I was wrong. It have waiting syndrome and just another hack and slash method as this screenshot below.

To top up with, the author seems to be in a rush in the development of this cinematic as there is a few typo error was detected.

To tally up, it was a cinematic that are an mix between the introduction of the story with some action been dubbed into it. But wasn't done very well even though the quality of the terrain was very good as it could be seen at certain aspect such as camera, typo errors, poor scripting that cause some flaw and how the battle scene was executed.

Overall, it was 3/5 (Useful)

Lemme, Check it out. Once i finish

Heh, I lol'd at that part when that panda guy said. " Im right here " and then the both of them died, Screaming. But the body of one of them seems to have dissapeared.

Terrain - 5/5

It was quite good, And maded me wonder if i could make something as good like it. But thats besides the point, The tree's and rocks were well placed. And the shrubs, Are the same.

Camera - 3/5

I thought it was nothing special at the start, But when it went farther to the cine it went somehow choppy and was poorly done.

Music & Sound - 5/5

It was pleasant and suited the scenes very well.

Animation - 3/5

I was getting tired of it after the first battle, Cause it was only Ronin comes up behind the enemy and slashes him, More of them come and he kills two of them by teleporting in front of them AGAIN, And the other one retreats a little bit and charges, He teleports behind him again..
Also, At the last scene, He was getting attacked by a bunch of ninja's. They were just playing attack on a permanent loop, EVEN when they died, That sorta got on my nerves.

Overall - 4/5

I made one of the ninja's explode so you could see a nice rain of guts ^^. Oh and about that final battle, It was pretty hard to do since all the animations are slowed down, and i actually didn't want to put any special effects in it because the only purpose of it was that ronin died (did he? =P). If anyone has ideas for special effects please post em'.

All you did is to make the battle scene a hack and slash scene with slow pace, it have no differ even if it was at normal or fast speed. Also, a good battle does not need an overused, repetitive or the need of sfx.

C'mon, don't rate me too hard. Take a look at my earlier cinematics, this one is way better. Besides I'm just a kid, so I'm still learning:thumbs_up:
