Well I've made terrain before but not like this. Mostly in maps where it has to be walkable. So what do you think about this one?

What should I improve and have in mind in the future?

If you wanted to shrine to blend in well you've done a great job, but to me I think it should stand out more. Maybe there could be more variation in the surrounding rocks too. Eg. More fire or unique features rather than just rocks. Perhaps a more secluded feel too.

However, everything else looks awesome. :) Keep up the good work.

Not bad... in fact it is very good for you first terrain, but it could use improving. I don't like the fact that rock suddenly end with underground dome doodad. You should have added stalagmites (or stalactites, I don't know which one are on the ceiling), to give it that underground feel. Also try playing with fog, it makes even the lamest terrain look good if used properly.
But I have to agree with Huuruka that not many things are visible because of bunch of rocks (my guess is: randomly placed all over the screen). You should have placed them with plan, maybe place less rocks, and I think it would look better if those in the back have increased height (Ctrl+Page Up). That's all.

Oh nice. Thanks fo the tip. I placed the rocks so that they would cover the cliffs. I didn't want them visible but now there seems to be another way to rise them. And there is fog. It's not all clear but you can se a little of it on the Underground Dome.
And how do you rotate the doobads other than around the Z axis?
I wanted the Shrine to be a part of the cliff, as if it had been cut out of the rocks.

If you mean to change pitch or roll angle, you will have to find Maximum Pitch\Roll Angle (Object Editor), and change it to negative value: Press Shift, then double-click on "Maximum Pitch\Roll Angle", insert the negative value (for example -1.00), and press OK.
That should do it!

Ok thanks that'll be usefull in the future.
Here is the latest update. I replaced the Dreadlord with a Firelord, turning this into a future sceene of my campaign. Then I came to think about other doobads to add, making it fit the theme of my campaign.
Is the background ok? You said something about Stalagmites. I also added some Rock Chunks to make the cliff higher and break the even field of normal rocks. So  or ?
