Just something strange, new and different I am trying, somewhat abstract, and the tree is meant to look out of place. Tell me if it looks good.

I think it would look better if you were to change the tile under the tree. Try using the grassy dirt tile from Ashenvale tileset. It would suit the sand.

I like this quite a lot though. Good idea. Maybe some sort of custom doodaded fountain.

The area surrounding the tree looks a little flat, maybe make a bit more dune like. Like the others said, maybe change the tiles a bit around the tree. I don't think the plants look out of place, I think it came out nicely.

It does look good, I like it.
I know it is suppose to look out-of-place but you should change the color of the trees to a little more light green. Match it more with everything else but retain some green to keep it abstract. Also do the same for the other green shurbs and such.
Other than that, looks way good, like pretty much all of your terrain.
