The Order of the Forge, was founded by Sir Eric Loveless. The Order of the Forge is a group of humans who follow the teachings of the Dwarf God Angador. Quite unusual for humans, they are master weapon smiths and practice their talents mostly in secret. For the art of Rune forging was forbidden long ago by Ashan for fear of the Dwarves gaining to much influence within the affairs of the Empire.
The Order of the Forge is responsible for many of the great weapons of the Empire, including The Spear of Tiber. This is largely unknown to the rulers of the Empire, both past and present, for the runes are quite well concealed within the weapons themselves, and the untrained eye could never truly see them.
Upon the eve of the destruction of the Empire, the Dwarf God Angador, came unto Frederick Lion, who was the guild master at the time, to take his men away from the city of Kul'namoth and to hide into the mountains. Frederick did as he was told, and although the Empire was destroyed by Sigmar III, Frederick and the Order of the Forge survived.
During the founding of the New Empire, Frederick Lion and his guild happened across Gurth'kano who readily accepted them into his Empire, although this action was met with protest by Ashan who still feared the influence the Dwarves could gain on the New Empire. But, as a offer to prove their loyalty, The Order of the Forge crafted a powerful Runic Hammer known as "Blakoth's Bane".This permanently convinced Gurth'kano of the loyalty of the Order of the Forge and he allowed them to practice their trade in the open in Whiteshire.
