A bit too old, a bit too buggy and a bit too poorly designed to be played in this day and age. Skyrim fixed on a lot of the design flaws of Oblivion but even Skyrim has big glairing problems.
Most noticeable is the "suicide" AI that every civilian has. They think nothing of charging at Daedric with a blunt dagger in nothing more than cloth (Oblivion), or thinking they can solo down a Dragon in their house cloths with a blacksmith hammer or pickaxe (Skyrim). Its like they have absolutely no regard for their life at all. Even when they are not charging in like a madman they then huddle in a ball in the open just waiting to be killed instead of taking cover in one of the dozen nearby houses. Then people are sad they die...
The fact that a person equipped in legendary, overly enchanted gear is making a back peddle from the fight should be a warning sign to civilians to take shelter in a nearby home and lock the doors.
I spent my first 6 hours staying in some kind of pub, and a lot guard just spawned on door. Then I play with console, kill most of them, make them naked, and put those people on epic pose. Then I stop playing.
