    The Moonchants
    - resurrected -

The last of the Priestesses from various cultures and races have gathered at the Isle of Lovers, all in hopes that they can overcome the corruption that has already spread it's dark claws across the world. Tho each of the Priestesses is powerful on her own, only when carefully matched with correct allies, the team might overcome the terrors and monsters that await them. Dive deep into the adventure of magic and might, form a team of Priestesses that compliment each other, and fight back the terrifying monsters.
Will you last long enough for the rest of the Priestesses to complete the ritual, and open to portal to a safe place? Or will the lesson of cooperation be taught the hard way?

    Introduction:

With incredible pride, we're happy to announce the resurrection of The Moonchants, an old project by one of our team members that promised a lot. Tho the team has scrapped the idea of making it a dungeon crawler, we've used the very same characters and the same vast universe they lived in, and turned it into a defense like no other.

Moonchants is a multiplayer map for four players. It's genre is Hero Team Defense.

    Characters and Features:

In a team of 4, each player controls one character of their choice. Every Priestess has different abilities and roles, ranging from those capable of mending any wounds, over those from the Wilds that prefer hand to hand combat, and to those so reckless they use their life force to strike.

Every Priestess, apart from having four abilities, has a choice of one Emblem at the start of the game. Every playable character has different emblems, and they can heavily alter the way said hero can be played (such is the Emblem of Magpie, which turns the Tormented Queen's ability to lifesteal capable of affecting all allies nearby at lesser rate, or the Emblem of Snowwhite, which makes the Queen deal twice as much damage as long as any other character is surpassing her overall damage output. Another example would be the Emblem of Blades, which grants her short-cooldown attack spell ability to store up to three charges when unused).

Tho characters are classified in three groups (Damage, Defense, Support), many times one can with emblems and skills reach into another, or multiple roles at once. This proves to be an excellent addition that every game will be a new game, with possibilities for your team only limited by imagination... and courage.

    Introducing the Team:

ColourWolfe - Creator, executive, and leading member of the project.
Apheraz Lucent - Visuals and core ideas.
    Joulie - Lore and writing.

At the time being, we are recruiting more people interesting in becoming a part of this project - Joulie (hewwo!) will timely create a recruitment thread.

edit: it's up! Moonchants Recruitment Thread

    BETA version:

Expected to be fully released in within three months time, but BETA will come faster than first stable version. How fast is depending on success of recruitment.

    Credits:

Full list of credits for resources will be released once the map is released at 1.0 version (not during BETA map testing).

With that being said, there's still some people to give credits for:
-Kobas- - for making a wonderful template for map description with which we present this map.
Black212 - from one night's idea of "hey let's make a map together", over donations, to endless support to make this come to life. We love you!
Apheraz Lucent - for giving away her old Moonchants project, along with innumerable amount of additional information on it (talking about 50+ text files with amazing ideas).

    Screenshots of current development:

Will be constantly updated to showcase different areas of work we've done so far.

An advice: in a defense map any hero that have in its description "needs a very strategic mind" is just plain bad because in defense maps the game starts slowing down to a crawl and being unresponsive rather fast due to the swarm of monsters and nothing tactical or strategic can be done if there is only one frame every 5 seconds: you can not take monster positioning in account at all.

@noob I guess you can only guess so much from a hero from it's tooltip. The said hero is quite fragile, and tho her spells can reach from a safe distance, being closer to danger means you get more value out of your AoE spells. I imagine that's what Joulie meant when she wrote the line - tho the Storm Fury character is arguably one of hardest to play at the moment.
