The Forgotten Hourglass

full

Map Description:

With the heart of the Mother Island, restored,
the sand drops once again.
- The Lore of Wind and Sea

For: 1v1 only

Objects:
  • 6 Goldmines (17k for each base, 12k for the first islands, 15k for the second islands)
  • 2 Goblin shipyards
  • 2 Taverns
  • 2 Goblin merchants
  • 2 Goblin labs
Creeps:
  • 4 Green creep camps
  • 12 Orange creep camps
  • 2 Red creep camps

Things to know:
  • Hard to attack enemy expansions without being noticed and it makes boats useful here.
  • Some creeps in the middle lane drops useful runes(of healing, of speed, of spirit link).
  • Tower-only defence is not possible for expansions on the first islands.

Tribute to a Disney creation.

I hope you enjoy.

------------
Updates (Feb 13)
  1. A little bit more space on the first expansion sites.
  2. Creeps nearby each base drops lesser-level items.
  3. Minor terrain changes around the middle bridge are done.
  4. Goblin shipyards are now placed on the shallow water.

Haha Paillan! You make me review this map ;p

I can see pretty much ingenuity put into making this map;
the use of healing runes and spirit link runes sets it apart from other melee maps.
Also, this map is an island map with shipyards.
(Oh, I just found out two islands are connected by an invisible bridge!)

I like your idea of trying new things, but I also found some problems that are critical.
1) Natural expo is not working. You will need more buildable area.
It is currently in a state in which only undead can build their mines.
2) You need to fix those creeps at shipyards. Once you hire a boat, creeps attack it.
If you have no range units, there is no way to kill them.

Other minor problems are
1) Mains are too small. You will need more open space.
2) Item drops are little imbalanced. For example, orange camp near the main drops lv2 perma + lv2 charge.
You will need to fix them to either lv2 perma or lv2 charge. An additional drop of a tome might be an option.

Well actually there IS way to get them.

Perhaps players will clear the space before getting their boats.

And problems about the first expansions and item tables were critical. I didn't see that happening.
Your review saved my work. Thank you!!

Greetings, Zenohardt.

Nice to see those changes. You did fix them.
I suggest you place shipyards on the shallow water.
As players would prefer direct playing styles, they wouldn't bother to find right pathways leading to it,
which means other players will also experience similar kinda things that I've experienced.
If ships are hirable on the cliffsides, then they would.
If you intend players to get around to where the creeps are, place the neutral building at where the creeps are.
