OK, another swiftly prediction from me on the current update and what it might hold for us:

While it gave some possibly-good race balancing features, made few adjustments to fixing bugs, it also showed me some neat goody treat for the future-modders out there: StarCraft 2 has VERSION SWITCHER. Current version (after the update) is 14093. The previous version build is 13891. Both of them are INTERCHANGEABLE. That means that it is possible to view older Replays without the need of using Third Party version switcher and additional patch files (unlike in WarCraft 3). The change is made in-game - that means you don't have to use different settings to view older, pre-updated material.
What I think is also possible (or should be) is playing with older versions. This makes playing Custom maps, which would be defunct after another update, actually possible. This might make maps, which were made in previous versions, non-crashable as the version would be changed directly on map load, while in Battle.Net 2.0. Of course, so would have to be with Galaxy Editor (SCUMEDIT), as transferring the map from one version to another could be a real pain in the arse, or practically impossible without a total-overhaul (do I have to remind you, fellow modders the 1.24 WarCraft 3 patch?).

Anyways, this is only a presumption. Don't take it as a coin.

Reapers got a nerf - it is less imba bigger damage on bigger intervals than smaller damage on lots of hit n runs.

I've some bad news for mapmaking and beta - Galaxy Editor may not make it in the Beta

http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/community/blizzcast/archive/episode13.html?rhtml=y

"We are still targeting the first half of this year, so with that in
mind, it really shortens the window of time, with our major content
patch coming out pretty close to the end, whether it's even worth it
putting out the map editor at that point."

And another disappointment, yeah im full of negativity so here you are:
- new replays can no longer be watched with this patch and if you're not in beta. YOu can still watch old if you enter under old version. But any new replays - no more ... GG

And to CRUSH YOU completely, Beta will be only for 3 months. If we dont have SC2 announced after Beta is over, we'll be in a black hole, with no beta;it will become unavailable and no SC2 until released.

"You haven't asked this question yet, but I'll answer it ahead of time. We were targeting three to five months for the beta, we're really at a three month period of time for the beta at this point. "

What? when the beta ends, the game will ship. a quicker beta means shorter time until release. you should be happy about that

Im pretty sure they shouldn't let us have nothing and that if beta ends SC2 should be released like on the next days. Yes, that's probable, but the case where they may make Beta longer than 3 months is possible, because you really can't imagine that SC2 will be released on May 17th (that would be 3 months since beta release)

You realize the game can go gold at any time, presumably as soon as all of the single-player content is tested and complete, and they can use a release-day patch to update everything with the final beta changes?

They said a major content patch will be out towards the end of the beta. I'd assume the game would go gold around that time as well.
