Hey guys! It's Superb again. I've recently been super busy performing, sparring, banging, partying, and lobbing bales of hay in Utah haha but I'm coming Back to Arizona and getting back to map development for several projects of interest. First being Project Hollywood:
Project Hollywood consists of a combination between Socom (a PS2 Third-Person Shooter.) and Call of Duty (We all know That franchise.)
The main goal of this map is to give players a soldier which is then tasked with A.) Killing the enemy team or B.) Complete the Objective.
Now, the map we have ready to release upon my arrival will contain:
1. Multiple Classes - i.e. The Navy Seal/Militia, Sniper/Sniper, Demolitions Expert, Cyborg and a few others.
2. Low HP and damage. This will cause you to value your soldier and use it with caution.
3. Similar abilities from the first-person shooter games such as; Frag Grenade, Set Mine, C4 and many others.
4. Scorestreaks and Killstreaks. Killstreaks are rewards that are airdropped randomly on the map after a certain number of kills are acquired. (i.e. 3 Kills = Bullet Proof Vest, a perk which boosts defense. 4 = Hollow Points, a perk which allows bonus damage. 5 Kills = Juggernaut Armor, an almost unstoppable perk which allows bonus damage, resistance to bullets and increased armor.) Scorestreaks are points that are given upon earning a kill. The player may then visit one of the various shops on the map to purchase perks or strike packages using the Scorestreak points. Such perks are: Juiced, a perk which gives bonus HP. Last Stand, a perk which revives the user upon death with half it's original HP. Sitrep, a perk which reveals enemy equipment or units. The Strike Packages are units or equipment which can be bought and deployed in the field. Such Strike Packages are: UAV Drone, a flying air unit which reveals invisible units and large portions of the map. Counter-UAV Drone, an air unit which has a high damaging, fast attack vs. air units and blacks out portions of the map upon being deployed. The Juggernaut, an almost unstoppable unit with high damage resistance. The Sentry Gun, a stationary unit which shoots enemy units. And others.
The first map to be released will be called Fish Hook. At the start of the game 6 Navy Seals will start on the shore of the beach, their goal is to advance forward, destroy the breaches, and kill the enemy team or rescue the hostages and escort them back to shore. The Terrorists will start with 5 teammates and their goal is to kill the enemy team and prevent them from escorting the hostages. Their are lots of elements to the map like "Cover" if you are near boulders or foliage there is a chance to avoid incoming fire. There is a lot of scenery and visual terrain to help enhance the gaming experience.

The First 30 Seconds are very important when testing a map out to see if you like it or not. If you aren't going "This map is cool as #$%$" within the first 3o seconds, chances are the map won't be all that good. If I have to play for an hour and then discover the map is cool, that's not good because most people don't do that. They go "Wow, this map sucks." then leave the game. Just like a blind date, the person is going What is this map/guy about and is the map/guy interesting. If you roll up to a blind date in a yellow T-shirt, Khakis, and a fanny pack. Chances are, that date isn't going anywhere. But if you show up looking like a goddamn rockstar the girl's going to be interested. The same idea applies to maps. Take Founders of the North, an RPG style game. The first thirty seconds you're in a town with awesome models and lots of interactive elements. You have literally endless options. You can be a farmer, warrior, merchant, a bandit. Practically anything. Your map HAS to invoke some sort of response within those first 30 seconds or Most of the time, I'm not saying it's impossible to recover, the player is lost. Other maps are: LOAP Gold, Real Life for Morons, Battleships, TKOK Eastern Kingdoms. All great examples.
If you have any other questions about the map post a comment or PM our tech. SuperbAvalon.
Sincerely, Black Hand Industries™
