Hey folks... I just came back to Warcraft a few days ago after a 5-month leave, and I jumped right back into making maps. However, every time that I click test map, the map auto-saves and requests for the Warcraft 3 (original game) CD. I have the frozen throne CD in my drive, and the WE says that the map is an expansion map.

After a while, I got fed up with it and put the original WC3 disk in there - all the game did was sit at the menu. No map opening, nothing.

It never did this before, and its really getting on my nerves.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I have - no errors come up.

It shouldn't be a problem with the installation, because I haven't uninstalled it... and this hasn't come up before.

It may be a problem with over-writing the previous test map. Try deleting the test map in "Warcraft 3 > Maps > Test" and then try testing. Other than that, I don't know. Though, if your map is not corrupted, and can still be played normally, it's not a major problem. Small hassle, sure, but workable.

I looked into my test folder before deleting, and there are some temp folders and two maps. One map is *very* old and is a wc3 original map, while the other is what I was working on before I stopped - a wc3 expansion map. I deleted the test folder, quit the editor, rebooted it, and tried testing again - the same thing happened.

I don't know why this is happening, but you might have found the beginning of the solution. Thanks.

Edit: I looked into my WE preferences, and under the test map tab, it said the filepath was Maps\Test\WorldEditTestMap.w3x, which is completely correct. It previously didn't have the w3x (which I added), and, before, there were two files in there - w3m and w3x. It might have been opening the w3m by default, since it didn't have a file suffix. Now, however, I don't know what the problem is.

I doubt you're using a mac, and thats the machine I'm currently on... and thats probably why you aren't having the same problem.
