Terrain lowering limit

Somehow I limited my possibility to lower the terrain. It can't go deeper than a standard "0 height" value. And if I try to edit my previously created holes it levels them. What is the option I occasionally turned on?

Terrain height does have it's limits, quite similarly to cliff height. There is a ceiling and a floor in the WC3 map that you just cannot go past.

Adjusting your cliff levels is going to bork your water, if you have any, but you should consider it a lesson learned.

I don't get it... How did it happen?

Example: I did a big hole in the ground which is supposed to be a crater from nuke. I did some terrain editing here and there on another end of the map (it's 256x256) and when I come back to the "crater" hole if I touch it with height brush it becomes immediately flat.
Can you explain to a newbie how does it happen please :). I think I miss something obvious.

The main question: how did I do it? I want to avoid it in future.

P.S. Here's the screenshot: I somehow managed to do this hole. But whenever I click "lower/raise" on it the tile become flat.

Moreover if I use "same level" tool it transforms the pit into volcano...

How did it happen and is there a normal way to fix it to leave some water on my map?

Think of it like a floor and ceiling, and you cannot go past either. You have just met the floor.

Like I said, take this as a lesson learned. You're gonna have to redo all the water and adjust cliff height+.

Mr. Vegavak, is it supposed to be a bug that the hole is lower than the "floor" already?

And I've found the way, I checked "fixed water height" V and adjusted cliff height without problems with the water. Thanks for the solution.
