Lots of Spacemarines here. =)
I do have my own IG army, the 1st Haraxxian Dragoons, but I haven't got many units so far:
- Arkurion pattern Baneblade
- Leman Russ
- 6 Kasrkins
- About 40 Guards
- 3 Heavy weapons platform

So far I have completed the Kasrkins and 7 guardsmen (autocannon team included); the Baneblade is about to be finished and the rest... still has to be assembled. ^^
You can see pictures of my guards in the group's images.

Hmmm yeah i was at first too. Coming from a old warhammer player. Get all infantry i'm not even joking. Tanks are big waste of money in my book and they always blow up. So you got a land raider opps i b. I get stuff from my friends who quit games workshop and they play space marines. Find a good deal and get HQ's they are very useful!

FIRST FOUNDING
So you think you got what it takes to build your own lore. Well you do. Give me your history and your paint schemes of your Chapters or any other type of army (in 40k universe only)
Use this to be your advantage.
if you are a space marine chapter you are in luck thanks to some buddies in my libariay you will permantly added to records (ie. you will be allowed to enter wikis XD if you have the suitable amount of lore needed to have a chapter).
Imperial guard and Inqustional players
please post so we can know what type -deleted by Inqustion--deleted by Inqustion--deleted by Inqustion--deleted by Inqustion--deleted by Inqustion--deleted by Inqustion--deleted by Inqustion--deleted by Inqustion-. Even though everything would of been deleted by the damn inqustional bastards TRAITOR SPOTTED.

Xenos please post as well Me and my team of elite hobbiest have been trying to get as much info before the end of the world not really but ok. We are mostly trying to save the trouble of players having to write down pages and pages and pages of notes for their army history

Nooo, not that... I like to joke as well, you'd know that if you'd have ever met me on Killing Floor! xD

The fact is that my army story is still quite a "sketch" if you get what I mean. I got ideas, names, places in my mind but nothing else. Soooo, I prefer to shut up on this right now. =)

i have a massive amount of information that i reveal as things are realeased in warhammer for example my characters use characters from different chapters. because my chapter has over 3,000 marines and it has to have a reason behind that.

I have an Imperial Guard 'army' currently, replacing my "Sneaky Ladz" Ork army. They're currently known as the 802nd Stúrn Rifles, a regiment that is known for it's skill in infantry-on-armor combat, as it's men are trained to depend only on their fellow troops, and not the mighty tanks the Guard is known for. Despite this, the 802nd does use a single unit of Leman Russ tanks, and a pair of Basilisks, although they are usually left in reserve. The CO of the 802nd is currently Commissar Gridley, a veteran of several campaigns against the vile Eldar. Gridley is known for being a handsome man, and so his nickname is "Old Ugly".

Sect. 2
He is ruthless in combat, but was removed temporarily from his training once, after he refused to execute a guardsman who retreated, and instead his instructor shot the man. Since then, once he reaches the field, he seems to tense up and change into a stern and commanding young officer. His aide is an older sergeant, a man named Yusef. His arm was severed by an Eldar blade, so he had an artificial arm placed in the wounded man. Gridley leads a seven man squad, and is currently stationed on a backwater world, defending a relic from the grasp of the mysteriously calculating Eldar.

Me? I left my army and lists at a friend's house. I haven't been able to play for so long. All I can say is.. 'I have 15 10-man squads, a command team, a customized Commissar miniature (Yarrick/Normal/Possibly a Space Marine too), four Ogryn and four LRs with a few Basilisks.' My friend's borrowing my army for a game of Apoc. , which I participated in before. We actually organized a game at our local Games Workshop, and got three Chaos players (1 Demons) and an Ork player to go along with a campaign. I played the first battle, where Gridley's team has to place a beacon on top of a massive ruined Titan, made from an old Forgeworld we got years ago. It was awesome.. and at the end, only my Commissar, Sergeant and five Guardsmen and an Ogryn survived, when Orks overran the Chaos army. Next fight, has IG/Space Marines (My friend) against two Chaos armies, Demons and CSM. The IG has to be in back and stop a huge army of Orks from capturing a depot with Baneblades. Sounds like it'll be good.

Haha, yeah, it was even more scary having to watch 563 Orks, Kanz, and a Gargant storm my defences, even overcoming an entire army of 245 Chaos Marines that was already attacking my zone. Now THAT'S scary.

Yeah, it was really scary. The Chaos player literally went into the corner after his last unit died and said "WHAT THE FUCK?! I can't even imagine this happening!"

Problem with rapid fire: You let the enemy get too close. I'm afraid that a moment later, any number of Orks would survive that, no matter what. Next Ork turn, they'd get you into assault, where only a few Space Marine units have any kind of extreme combat advantage.

Yeah, if you're army is THAT big, you can't mix with IG legally. You also can't use Baneblades because the Super-Heavy tanks are part of the special rules that exist for Apocalypses' IG armies.

Black Reach is definitely a great starting point for both Orks and Space Marines. I also suggest:
1 Battleforce
Up to 3 Combat Squads
1 Predator Tank or Whirlwind (Cheapest Tanks)
Maybe a Devastator squad or 1-2 Tactical Squads

or just go with the strike force.
BUT I WAS AN APOCALYPSE GAME! 40,000 or more pts each side. so it was a massive game i only have like 10,000 pts. -.- which contributed alot. but still the orcs got owned by the templates not to mention stern guard pwn all infantry. +3 on wounding is awesome.
