Tale of the two brothers​

(Part 1)​

After losing the Great War against the Alliance of the Free Races, the remaining orcish clans are having a hard time to survive. Constant human attacks and internal conflicts about spiritual beliefs are taking it's toll on the struggling orcs. And now, a new threat emerges...

Play as the young Rokaro Fairsight in his struggle to survive while facing multiple enemies – even in his own family.

8 playable maps and two interludes
Follow the tale of two brothers through the eyes of Rokaro and his allies.

Various quests
Quest objectives include base-destroying, finding items and escorting a caravan.

Discover multiple new races
Play as the orcish Fairsight Clan, Blood Orcs and trolls.

Several playable heroes
Play as Rokaro Fairsight, his brother Gash and four more heroes.

A variety of enemies to battle with
Fight against humans, High elves and an undead faction consisting of skeletons!

Changelog​

Uploaded the original version of the campaign



- Fixed the Power Throw ability
- Fixed the upgrades for the Blood Orcs
- Scorescreens are hidden in the interludes
- Rokaro has a new model
- Disabled icons should work by now
- Disabled air units for the earlier missions



- Changed icons for Force of Blood and Improved armor from active to passive
- Improved several ability descriptions and tooltips, including Fury
- Added more doodads to all maps
- Added more height to the maps (hills, roads, etc.)



-Fixed terraining and vision issues with the buildings of the Ogre-Troll faction
-Added several DISBTN's for the used custom icons so they do not turn green anymore
- Fixed upgrade issues for the Hellwalker faction

Author's note​

- This campaign is developed to run with patch 1.29.2. It does not load on earlier patches.
- Do not edit this campaign without my permission.
- Feedback concerning this campaign or general points of improvement will be appreciated if it consists of constructive criticism.

Use a proper map thread preview image, not a screenshot, please. Terrain is quite bare and flat. You should check out some terraining tutorials or just inspire yourself from the original campaigns. Doodad variation is also scarce. Fury's description...

Just my thoughts. It appears strange to me that this happens with an icon that functions well in several of my campaign files.
It could be a problem with the patch version... @Cristian23, which patch are you using?

I noticed the error is caused in chapter 9. I suppose you were trying to play Tale of the Two Brothers - Part Two?

Too bad, I do not know what could have caused the problem (during my playthroughs, this did not happen). Time to summon the connoisseurs of this campaign :grin: .

@trycex @Tryndamere @HuanJuan did any of you encounter this bug during your playthroughs and/or do you have an idea to fix this? Any clues are appreciated. :wink:

I do not have an update planned to be honest. Most of the bugs have been removed, so I rather focus on reworking part one. Could you try to play Part Two with patch 1.29? It is the recommended version and I did not encounter a problem with the icons while using this patch. Let me know if it helps :)

Not really a bug but a consequence of my inexperience while making part one. I forgot to remove some of the upgrades in the buildings in chapter one (which is kind of stupid considering the fact that it is a micro-mission).

Not really a bug but a consequence of my inexperience while making part one. I forgot to remove some of the upgrades in the buildings in chapter one (which is kind of stupid considering the fact that it is a micro-mission).

I do not have that much news yet. At the moment I am working on reworking part one, but I am also busy at the moment with study, so... I do not know when the update is ready.

About part two: I do not plan to update it at the moment. First, I want to finish part one and then the human sequel, Chronicles of the Marshal, will get my attention. If you want to play part two, I still recommend switching to patch 1.29, as the campaign is made for this patch.

Hi everyone!

Today I uploaded a new version of this campaign on Hive 'Tale of the Two Brothers - Part One Reworked'. You can find it with the link in the description above. Because of this, I will no longer update the old version of the campaign.

The reworked version still follows the same storyline, but the terraining, usage of custom models and icons and gameplay have been improved.

Hi Tulee!

Thanks for pointing that out. I would like to clarify why it is posted separately.

It is not that the current version is mildly updated with some bug fixes and some custom models. The point is that all maps have been remade from scratch, most of the units received different models and icons, heroes got new spells, some maps have a changed gameplay, etc. Because of this, I have asked Deepstrasz how to cope with this situation.

He wrote it is allowed to post it separately, if the campaign is considerably different. Looking at the aforementioned changes, I think this campaign differs considerably (both in structure and quality :wink: ).

So I get your point, but I think this case is an exception. If the map reviewers judge otherwise, I will update this campaign if necessary.
