[Spell] Summon Structure (wrong model)

Hello,

I am working on a Hero Map and one of the heroes should have the ability to summon a special tower unit by me. I decided to copy the "Serpent Ward" ability for this and just change the unit to summon. The unit summoned is a copy of the "serpent ward (level 1)" unit and I changed attack dmg and other stats. But the problem is I wanted to let the tower look like the Arcane Tower from the humans. I selected the correct model in the list and used "upgrade, third" as required animations, but when I use the ability in the game, the tower looks like in construction progress (like it would currently be upgraded or built) until he shoots for the first time. Is there anyway to have the correct model from the beginning?

Hmm this is something I've seen for other units that based on buildings, e.g. creating a unit based on Ancient Protector will actually have the Night Elf building creation model until that unit attacks, moves, or is otherwise order.

This sounds like the same problem as what you describe.

Try changing the classification of your ward to building and not to ward. That may solve it?

the problem lies in the really long birth animation of the model
i suggest you using one of the elven towers in human->campaign, and use upgrade,third, since their upgrades have no relevant birth animation, and are quite similar to the human tower
otherwise you can try and remove the birth upgrade animation from the human tower model using some modelling tool

At first, thank you for all the helpful replies! :)

I now used one of the campaign towers which look similiar as AYF suggested. If others have the same problem, here is the solution:

I selected the ElvenGuardFireTower.mdl and used "stand, upgrade, second" as RequiredAnimations.

Thanks for all the help again.
