THE BEGINNING OF THE WAR -- PART ONE

This story begins half way through the story of the Cult, it begins at the point that Galwich's mind is taken by the Demon.

MASTER'S WISH
Galwich, who's mind had just been taken control of by Nonlurak, and he started to worship the Demon. Nonlurak told the Wizard that he should go out, and start to create an army of Undead, and search for an Orb, that will free Nonlurak from his prison, so he can be free to take over Braviel again.
He left the Prison, and immediately started doing what Nonlurak instructed him to do. He traveled across Braviel, recruiting Necromancers into a Cult. The Cults purpose would be to search for the Orb so Nonlurak can be released, and to create an army of Undead, so Nonlurak would have an army at his command when he was released.

Soon after his disappearance the Council of Elves spent years trying to find him, but eventually gave up, unaware of what he was doing, they thought that he had simply been killed in the wilderness.
However Galwich was still out there, in a hidden place, creating his army, and waiting until the time was right to start the war on Braviel...

AN ENDLESS ARMY

It had been years since the Council had given up searching for Galwich, and Galwich was nearly ready to make himself known to the rest of Braviel. Before he unleashed his army of Undead, he hired hundreds of bandits and pirates to do what he wanted, in return for huge amounts of gold. With a huge army of undead at his command, and hundreds of bandits and pirates ready to die for him, Galwich decdied it was time to begin the war on Braviel.

He unleashed his army on Braviel, first by attacking helpless villages that had no way of defending themselves, but before long Galwich had his eyes on bigger targets. He started to send his armies against larger cities and fortresses throughout Braviel, but he had lost the element of surprise he had in his first assaults. With the council completely aware of his army, Galwich's army started to receive heavy casualties, and then the war began.

FINDING THE CULPRIT
The Elven Council was fully aware of the Undead Army, but they had no idea who it was that was leading it. So they sent out a number of spy's into Braviel, to try and find who was in command of the Undead Army. The spies infiltrated the Cult, pretending to be Necromancers wanting to join the Cult. The Cult, which was in desperate need of more members let them join.

Quickly the spies found out that the leader of the army was Galwich, so they returned to the Elven Council, and told them what they had found out. Many people were shocked that Galwich was responsible for this, but the Elven Council still came to the decision that Galwich should be assassinated as soon as possible. They tried over and over again to assassinate Galwich, but they could never get close enough to him, as he constantly surrounded himself by huge numbers of Undead.

RECRUITMENT

Although the armies of the Elven Council were taking heavy casualties, so was Galwich's army. With the Elven Council fully committed to stopping the Undead army, and his army getting smaller and smaller every day, Galwich decided that he needed to find a way to boost the numbers of his army. He realized the only way to really do this, was to get more Necromancers into the Cult.

However there were not many Necromancers left who willing to join his Cult, so he decided he would force people to join his Cult. He used some of Nonlurak's power to take control of the minds of hundreds of wizards, some of these being wizards with huge power, some were even part of the Council. After that the Elven Council had its hands tied up, trying to expose Wizards who were being controlled by Galwich, and to try and find where he was creating his armies.

Galwich decided that he would need a new strategy if he was to win this war. So him and his army went into hiding. The Elven Council believed that they had driven the Undead Army away, and that they had won the war. They were wrong, before long his army came out again to destroy new targets. But before the Elven Council could respond to the attack, and send one of their armies to engage the Undead Army, they had gone back into hiding. This has continued over and over again, with the Elven Council desperate to try and find where Galwich's army is, or where their next target will be.
