Starcraft Evac v1.0

Ladies and gentlemen, folks and folkers, etc. etc... Yes, my map is at last done!!! Let me explain everything about this map now that it is done (the first version is done, but there should be many updates in the future). This took me roughly 6 weeks. I started making this map in late November, and ended on New Year's Eve. And I want to let you all know that there are SOME curse words... yeah lol. The more players play this at a time, the better it should be (at least in the beginning). If any of you notice bugs in my map, please report them to me via my map's website http://www.starcraftevolution.wtf.la , or send me an email to [email protected]

Some interesting features of my map:
- Starcraft units (with Starcraft models)
- 3D starcraft sounds (although some might malfunction
- Construction of Starcraft buildings (Terran, Protoss, Zerg)
- Custom Starcraft icons for each unit/building/ability
- 6 players can play this: 3 top slots = Terran, 3 other slots = Protoss. The Zerg are being played by the enemy, at least for now
- The (up to) three Terrans start on one side of the map, and the Protoss on the other side of the map, however, they're allies
- At first, you explore with your units. Later on, you defend yourselves

Goal in this map:
- You must survive, and your hero must survive at all costs
- Fight off the Zerg with the help of your units, as well as your allies
- RED PLAYER (PLAYER 1): type "-boot color" to kick that player out of the game. Replace the word color with blue, teal, purple, yellow, or orange.

Couple of screenshots of my map:

Future POSSIBLE plans for my map:
- (100%) Fix the current bugs
- (100%) Allow Player 1 to change the difficulty
- (100%) Make all the cinematics more versatile and pleasant to watch (lol)
- (100%) Harvestable/Mineable Mineral Patches and Vespene Geysers
- Make stackable 3D sounds (making it possible to hear every unit of one certain type at the same time when they attack)
- Further expand the map, make the map slighly longer, and more fun
- Make all of the cinematics skippable, instead of just the middle one
- Add a new hero (or two) for each side, and make it possible for the players to choose the one they would like to play as
- Much more which I didn't think of so far.

And of course a big thanks to all those people that helped me somehow:
- Esnaroth - Helped give advice on how to create a Reaver
- night_wolfeX - Released his starcraft models, which i used in my map
- Shymm_dogg - Suggested most of the hero names, as well as taught me how to make up custom names on my own :p
- TheHelper - Helped me learn how to take care of creating custom icons. Many people in TheHelper Forum helped as well with many things, thanks again
- kingbdogz - Through a bit complicated process, helped create the build icons which required some sort of an "Alpha Channel", in .BLP format.
- Everyone else who helped me, sorry if I didn't mention or forgot the names :D

VGsatomi: Approved. Nice map with some interesting play elements. Couldn't figure out how to get the tanks to work, however. Variety of gameplay is nice.

I think the map is not so great. Even THO THE MODELS ARE JUST AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the map isnt very unique your basicly going out for a bit till you meet up with others THAN you completey went hero seige on us! so basicly its a little big of star ship trooperse and X Hero seige with buildings!!!!*Suggestion* Redo the idea. like either make it so camp out and defend make it like an RPG wheer you have to go kill the overmind or some that that would be 100% better than sitting there like a seige with sc models(That rule)

I rate this map 4/10 and if you think about it hard ENOUGH 5/10 for the models

Half of the things didnt work like tanks for humans nor droids even tho it says in menu you can use them and You cant mine with your workers The only crsytal and gass areas to get many are off the map once the defense starts because you cut it off(That would be usefull to be able to get money to acctualy buy things and add the mining and gas buildings!) That is all but that was just a suggestion:)!

Yes, although I mostly focued on making this map as much similar to starcraft as I could, even the starcraft feel, I left out a few things. I'm planning to add mineral patches and vespene geysers in later versions. I didn't add this right away, since mineral patches are more like trees, and vespene geysers more like gold mines, whereas I replaced gold with minerals, trees with vespene.

Later on I'm planning to expand this map as well, basically allowing each player to move around the map more, be free, kill more zerg, and that kind of thing.

But about the siege tanks... they are working just fine, they shoot, move, and can deploy for defensive/offensive purposes, what are you talking about :p? (what droids did you speak of too)?

Thanks for the suggestions/ideas, finally someone who bothered to help me fix the problems :D

Aaaah I get you now. For the siege tanks, you needed to rescue the marines in south-western part of map, then move them to the circles. However, each player receives fixed units, one of each. For example, red blue and teal would get the goliaths from left to right in respective orders, and get the siege tanks from up to down (also in respective orders). For the droids, you mean dragoons. There, you just move the hero to the right circle, once again, check all, and you will get one of them. Each player gets one of each unit. The transmissions when entering the zone with circles should've been giveaways :p

I'll try to add something to make this more clear, or somehow change this to make it simpler.

Well the problem with this map is that it's very easy, very simple, very boring.
The models are nice. It's good that you can build some buildings but you don't really use them.
You can't harvest minerals.
The map size is small, there is no room, it's really suffocating.
The game requires no teamwork.
You don't have to use any hero skills at all.

This is how you can win without any problem with terran:
Commander tanks. 4 medics heal it, 1 siege tank, and max goliaths. Nothing is going to break through. You build this up in the 8-10th minute, order them to hold pos and you can go an take a bath, have a dinner.

The map has potential, despite these flaws. If you would have much more space to build, minerals to fight for and mine everything would be much more fun.

questionable as to why in your picture the siege tanks are INFRONT of the defenses instead of behind...so as they don't blow themselves up??honestly WTH kind of commander puts their siege tanks infront in seige mode?no offense but it seems silly to place siege mode tanks infront..
