is there a way to allow evasion% to add up.
for example
item#1 gives the unit 11% evasion and
item#2 gives 5% evasion and
item#3 gives 2% evasion; giving the unit a total of 18% evasion.

If Evasion is put in a spell book and the user has Evasion it will be checked twice for evasion (ie if user already has 5% evasion and you put 5% evasion in a spell book the user will have 7.5% evasion), you can further stack evasion by putting spell books in spell books in spell books... but realize it's basically its own system of diminishing returns (you can never get 100% evasion with this method)

Or give all units an evasion ability with 101 levels (evasion from 0% to 100%), and when the unit takes up a specific item you set the ability's level +X, and -X when it loses that item.
Should be exactly the way of stacking you asked for. (And you can hide the Evasion-Icon by putting it into a spellbook and disabling that spellbook)

It might work if you made different abilities. There is evasion, critical strike, and drunken brawler as far as i know. Try setting all of them to 34% and give them all to one unit and make a bunch of enemies attack them. If they evade all attacks then you know it must stack. But you could also try this with just one of them to see what effect it has. The only real way to figure this out is to test it out for yourself. Try doing different things and see what works. And if all else fails you can always make dummy abilities and trigger the evasion by triggering it like what meOme said.
