:confused:Ok I am trying to skin a unit and I want to convert his beard to flames. The only problem is that I can't make anyhting that even looks semi-flamish. Does anyone know a way to make flames kinda look good? Also, how do I do bone? I looked at a tut that had something about bone but it didn't help. I am trying to do horns and they look really bad.

Try experimenting with colors and shading. Most peoples stlye won't work because it is fitted to them. After some practice with a few skins your should have identifyed your stlye and it will get easier and easier.Good luck and have fun skinning.

Alright, so heres when i do when i get into trouble when making a texture. First off you want fire right?

So pick 5 colors. Each relating to the next in a brightness order. Example:

Dark red to red to orange to yellowish orange to yellow

Take your time finding the right colors. Now you'll want to make it look like a pattern of ocean waves. Choose the order in which your going to put the colors you have chosen. (Hint: I suggest putting the brighter colors on the outside of the flames, the very top) About 3 ocean wave fire patterns. Outline the top of these waves with your brightest colors.

Now do the same thing but under your brightest color with your second brightest. Keep going untill your down to just a bit of beard left, and put your darkest color (Probebly dark red) as the core.

I see that as a good way to make a fire beard. (I used a similar way in making my camo)

Try that.

And for the horns, just color it a grayish color, then shade it. The bottom of the horn a dark dark gray or black. And it goes up and up and goes brighter as you go along.

Well, not so sure about that one, you can try it.

Most peoples stlye won't work because it is fitted to them

That is true, you can give this a shot Chaos, but if it doesnt turn out so well dont complain. Because as said it probebly doesnt fit you.

Give it a shot anyway.
