I was thinking of making a cinematic viewable by 12 players; this cinematic would be a production of William Shakespeare's Romeo&Juliet.

The map itself would be very small in area, 32x32 or 64x64, as it would all take place in a theater, with the players' cameras never moving from their fixed position.

Map would obviously take place in all cinematic mode, with a Lordaeron Summer sky, no fog, time fixed at noon, and rays of sunlight. This would be to simulate the conditions of a Shakespearean theater; all plays had to be performed during the day so the actors and audience could see. There would also be no props on the set, to make it even more like an Elizabethan production.

I would like some feedback and/or help on this idea, which is why I decided to post this. I do not think that anyone has ever decided to make a map specifically to put on Shakespearean plays before in Warcraft III.

I see that some of you like Shakespeare puns; unfortunately, "to be, or not to be" is not in Romeo&Juliet but in Hamlet.

Multigod, the point of the cinematic would be to capture the essence of Elizabethan Theater, the medium by which Romeo&Juliet was originally performed and the medium it was designed for. A movie doesn't cut it; the theater is part of the play.

Really?

Better watch the Real RomeonJuliet than the theater version, if I hafta say.

MultiGod, I am sorry to tell you this, but the "real" Romeo & Juliet IS A THEATER VERSION. It is a play by William Shakespeare, intended for open-air Elizabethan theaters with very few props and on a relatively low budget, thus requiring excellent and captivating acting.

What on earth made you think the "real" Romeo & Juliet was not a theater version? Surely you have heard of Shakespeare?

It is a very bad idea - I know because I had it when I started out in Warcraft III.

3 main reasons why this wont work:
1 - warcraft III characters can't express emotions
2 - it will literally be a few units standing while you read the text
3 - people won't download it - no matter how much you or I like Shakespeare, most people on hive don't. Think of the target audience.
