Shade-to-Circle Hero Selection in DotA Allstars?

Hello,

I started playing DotA Allstars all the way back in September 2004. I then stopped playing at one point in 2013 (when Dotalicious, a popular client in Europe around the time, was shut down for good due to dota 2 taking over). A couple of months ago, though, I got gripped by nostalgia and decided to try the game again. More recently (a couple of weeks ago), I read this great article by David Dannelly and decided to try DotA 1.0 by Eul. I was immediately struck by the Shade-to-Circle selection in that version, and it brought memories of a similar mode in DotA Allstars. I am unsure if this memory is genuine or if I am mixing up different custom maps in my head; for a while, I thought I was confusing this with Enfos, but after looking it up, Enfos had a square-like area for hero selection with shades. In contrast, my memory is of a small circle of heroes in the upper left corner of the DotA map. Am I mixing things up, or was there such a mode in DotA Allstars at one point?

Dota Allstars always had Taverns (starting from version 0.96 which is the earliest archived one), it was only the early versions by Euls that had selection with shades.

Thanks for your reply. That is true. However, it is worth noting that Random Draft since Dota Allstars 6.70 (and maybe a couple of versions earlier) has a circle selection area, but instead of shades for selecting heroes, it uses a green tick. At this point, I am confident that the abovementioned memory is a mix of different unrelated memories (possibly mixing enfos and DotA).
