"Can I detect searing arrow damage?"
Not reliable.
The way to detect such damage is not searing arrow but something that gives a buff like black arrow. If the unit that takes damage has the specific buff and the buff is removed it means the unit took damage from a unit with that specific ability at that sepcific time.
"Is it a 2nd attack or is it the same attack?"
The same attack.
