Scary Grunt v0.04c

This map has no custom things in it, except for Can't touch this - MC Hammer

Scary Grunt


You get 2 gold every round, +2 if you win.

Scary Grunt has a 5% chance to liquify you if you he comes within 400 range.
Scary Grunt has a 10% chance to miss when striking you.

[highlight]Spells:[/code]
Explode: Explodes in a 350 units radius, sending units around you flying.
Swap: Swaps places with the target.
Speed boost: Increases your movement speed by 30% for 5 seconds.
Rush: Rush towards a target, if you want to turn you have to spam click.

Boots of speed (8 gold): Increases your movement speed by 60.
Time Stop (20 gold): Stops all units except for you. Lasts 4 seconds.

For comfort I added a couple of commands to customize gameplay and buy items.

-speed 0-999: Sets the speed to the entered number.
-speed reset: Sets the to the default, 30.
-zoom 0-9999 Sets the camera distance to the entered number, default is 1650.
-shop: Shows the shop menu.
-buy #: Buys the item with the specified number.
-exit: Exits the shop menu.
-drop #: Drops the item in the specified slot.

You must give name to hidden tag, example:
hidden=Click!

Yeah... the terrain totally blows but since the terrain changes all the time maybe i should do like you said, different areas and random them instead? ^^ but im going to sleep now, will answer anything when i get back from school tomorrow :3

Yes, this has definitely improved, congrats, it still feels like it's missing something...add more tile variations, don't get lazy there.
Maybe add hills and stuff to the generator as well.

Do those two simple things, and I can approve this.

Wayyy better than that other version. Try finding a suitable minimap image for it too. It attracts pplz :D

I have just made 2 arenas with improved terrain. Though I'm not really a great terrainer so... Tell me if you want it up or wait for me to finish all 12.

Also added a drop item system, and a system so that you cannot buy 2 of one item, since it gives only one next round.

EDIT: I decided to put the map up now before I go to bed so I have some CC to read when I get home tomorrow :3
One "Hell" looking arena, One raided by undead arena (Not really done yet.) and one barrens area. Gnight :p

So have you added height deformations and tile variations yet?
(don't want to download if they haven't been added)

EDIT: Well, I went and checked it out anyways and wow.
The terrain is much worse now.
Use the generator still just add height, doodads, and that stuff to it.
It's not hard.
If you want to do it manually then get better at terraining.

I'm gonna add that changelog right now.

EDIT: Download the map again since I redid some terrain parts, (btw, check the START trigger to see which arenas tile type changes in-game, (arena 7 and 1)

And since the quality of this map is quite low (no offence), I doubt anyone would want to steal it and thus its not protected rite?

EDIT:
Tested a few minutes ago. Unfortunately the game doesnt end if you are playing alone with a computer grunt. Cant try being the grunt, no one wants to play.

@oldmilk: actually I'm going to use my avatar for the preview picture, though I can't get it to work properly. Though I hope that Crave. won't have a problem helping me with that.

@Crave.: I could fix so that you can play singleplayer as soon as get on the computer.

Scary Grunt v0.04c Review

Scary Grunt v0.04c is a mini-game, in which you control a weak unit that is being chased by a unit that kills you with one hit. The goal is to avoid getting killed by getting others like you get killed first.

The terrain is bad, but isn't horrid. The variety of templates helps the game a lot, although some of them are quite plain. If you could get someone to terrain it, it would be quite good.

The peasants could have more abilities, and you could set the idle icon to the peasant, not the peon one. Also, while in game menu, the grunt spot is free. Shouldn't it be occupied by a computer?

The map also lacks in originality, but which one doesn't. We have seen pretty much everything that could be seen. This isn't anything new.

The map surprised me a bit. I expected a very bad map, and I just got a bad map. Needs huge terrain improvements, more options then just setting lives, add game modes. Because if you can't be original, you must have a variety of gameplay options. So please, work more on this, this is still a 1/5 but could easily get a 2/5 in near future.

Well as far as the terrain goes, Crave. is currently my terrainer so I am not gonna do anything until he have fixed the terrain. But I will surely add more game modes, like Team mode and ZOMFG mode (All spells from the start, and maybe no cooldowns. Random events perhaps.). And after that I will take as many ideas as possible. :razz:
