i have to say....... ive seen many Runescape map maker fans trying to re-create such a rpg map.... BUT all stopped halfway >.> i would definitely want this map to be created and not halfway completed XD so.... GOOD LUCK TO DA CREATORSXXX. strive till the endXXXX

emmm could we take up dungeoneering at last ???
its almost like a skill
we could work on that
maybe we'll put it up as a separate map as well

Important Information


1. Map will be released in THREE seperate maps.

The reason this cannot be completed with the 'Epic' size of a Warcraft map is because the size of the real Runescape area will be too large to cover in a single map. It will be divided into:

The Wilderness


The Wilderness is the most ferocious place in Runescape, and is the known as the Graveyard for careless players. The Wilderness will also have the strongest creatures, and where the Player Versus Player feature will take effect. There will also be training spots for players to get stronger and level up like Strongholds, and we will try to place the Tzhaar Fight Pits as well. The God Wars dungeon will also be included in The Wilderness. This map will have all the combat aspects of the game, so this is basically a huge, endless arena. Take note, there will not be many quests here.

The Cities


The cities will be more on the more 'social' and 'industrious' skills of Runescape. The cities will be lush areas fit to what Jagex has created; but of course still mantaining a small part of the game's combat aspects. Though, this part of the production has been halted due to lack of members, and the location of all the quests.

Daemonheim

Ah; Daemonheim. To those that are not familiar with that term; Daemonheim is the host of the newest skill known as Dungeoneering. Here, you will fight for the way out using only what you find in each floor. Each floor provides a new challenge, so it's best to take some other adventurers for you. You can either play in a 'Survival of the fittest' environment, or support each other and use the 'All for one; one for all' tactic.

As for now, we are working on The Wilderness, because it's more of a basic concept, since it's all about fighting and Player Versus Player battles and epic Boss Battles. Hopefully when The Wilderness is done and released, we will have other members that are ready to work on the Cities and Daemonheim.

2. We need more members.

Right now, at this moment we need:

- Makers and Triggerers of the Runes required for spells. For now, don't bother with the other runes, just work on the basic elemental runes. -
- Equipment for players -
- The Wilderness Terrain -
- Spell Books and Spells for Enemies and Players -
- Monster models and monster placing -
- Bosses -
- Stronghold Of Security Triggers and Enemies -
- God Wars Dungeon; Zamorak, Bandos, Saradomin, Armadyl -
- Terrainers for different cities and nature areas -
- Daemonheim Floor Creators and Triggerers -
- Daemonheim Decorators -


3. Feedback and Suggestions are very helpful to the project.

All your suggestions and bug reports affect the project. All of your suggestions help to make the map better, and bug reports make sure the map is clean and working properly!

oh so it's 8/8 ?

darkzxx, stop insulting the members.
Let them do what they want. It's their own fault if they don't want to work on it.

And forgive them if they aren't able to work on it.

hmmm, i know i just joined the team. But listen if you were to make a campaign, you can have seperate people working on different parts. It would be more organised, you can make the landscapes. "Detailed" and maybe look into creating an epic storyline, just an opinion.
 
There is no questline, it has some lore story thats pretty complicated. I know some of it but still the quests have invidual stories.

but still have you not thought about a campaign?
being able to recreate it to the exact layout, casue you can set the map widths and heights to just over 400x400, this will greatly increase your maps :D
And this way you can also many unique systems for your game.
 
Runescape has a sort of quest line. Certain quests are in a series, theres the penguin series, mort myre series, etc.

WElll yea, but i aint going to argue with these lot.
Anyways, since you guys need the basic spells doing im doing that,
im also working on a trigger for you guys, so that it generates random Dungeenoring levels/rooms, which depend on the level of your skill.

This could take some time as i will neeed to make it so it can also add some environment in.
But till then i have the basic structure of the trigger, and it works.
 
we arent doing dungoneering. Do people ever read the first post? It will probably be the last of our worries.

Hmmm well, from what people saw. i was told that we arn't but, i am able to work on it, as it is not a big job and would not take long to get the landscape for it done, as i can see with the triggers.
