The Songs of Altharya is a single-player RPG and strategy campaign currently in development.

Created by Lysandrei, this map blends exploration and tactical squad control with deep lore and elaborate cinematics.

I currently have at least six maps in development, but I need help to move forward. My ideas have become too big for me to realize alone due to my lack of experience — but I have a strong desire to keep working steadily, as long as I receive the right guidance.
I know Hiveworkshop is full of incredibly talented people.

ATENTION!
This is a work in progress. Please do not redistribute, modify, or use any part of this map in your own projects without my explicit permission.
I'm sharing it here for feedback, testing, and collaboration only.
All ideas, systems, and designs are original and part of a long-term campaign in development.
Thank you for respecting the creative process.

That being said, I invite you to try Chapter 01: The Mystery of Maquereau.

CHAPTER 01 DESCRIPTION

The Order of Fuathronus has been informed that the wild murlocs have grown increasingly aggressive towards the fishermen of Maquereau Village, and the local defenders have been unable to stop the attacks.
With the kingdom on edge due to the threat of war, the Order wishes to test its new knight, Lysandre Du'Mont, by sending him to investigate the region.
There are suspicions that a magical disturbance in the waters may be affecting the murlocs and perhaps, an old enemy is behind it.

Genre: RPG + Strategy (hero control and squad-based tactics)

Core Mechanic: You control your hero from a third-person RPG-style camera, along with small squads using tactical commands.

Terrain: Exploration, checkpoint monoliths, and puzzles.

I'm tired of working on all of this alone, and I’d love to start sharing progress to receive feedback, motivation, and hopefully find people who want to get involved.
Please, I truly appreciate if you can play the map and share any and all thoughts you have about it.

MAP IDEA
1 – INTRO CINEMATIC:
I already have the script for Lysandre and the warriors arriving on the map — a short cinematic sequence.

2 – MURLOC LAIR:
Once they reach the lair, they’ll suffer unexpected ambushes — this part is also outlined.

3 – FINAL ENEMY:
Not revealing much here — let’s just say someone shows up to cause serious trouble, and you'll need to be clever strategists to avoid getting squashed like tadpoles.

CAMPAIGN IDEA
Prologue
A cinematic chapter with lore setting up the campaign.

Chapter 0 – Tutorial
A tutorial to get familiar with the mechanics, the RPG camera, positioning your squads, and understanding the intended gameplay flow.

Chapter 01 – (CURRENT)

Chapter 02 – (Village Defense)

And much more to come, as long as people get excited and want to know more. I already have tons of notes and a deeply developed map about a city in the middle of a revolution.

CONCLUTION
Well, I’ve said it all — now it’s in your hands.
Play it, tell me what you think, and let’s make history together.

Thank you so much for letting me be part of this community. I’ve been visiting Hive for years, but this is my first time posting :D

RESOURCES
Special thanks to Chaosium for helping me with the Red Knight mdx !! :goblin_yeah: :goblin_yeah: :goblin_yeah:

If anybody wants to help with a little request here is the Spearman Request for the troops ;)

Hey, just tried it yesterday and I have some things to point out and some questions also:
  • The herbs are a bit hard to catch at first, because they blend so well at the terrain that you'd think it's just a doodad so no wonder I thought the first murloc fight was unwinnable.
  • I noticed some camera angles are a bit awkward or at an off angle when playing.
  • Dialogs overlap each other almost everytime, X footman is talking then another X footman talks, I think you'd need to either expand the map to allow more gap or cut off some dialog but I'm sure there's a more practical way to solve this.
  • Lysandre having breath of fire as an ability is kinda odd, considering he's a knight, but this is just my opinion.
  • Is there an ending? I think I killed all the murlocs at the lake but there's no conclusion to say otherwise, or I may have missed something.
I feel like that's all, anyways I think it's great if you manage to complete this. I'd be glad to see the big picture here.

thank you so much for your time i really apreciate this !

herbs: mmm i didn't expect that! i thought that the red fruits and the shine effect would do the work, but it seems like it needs something else
camera angles: yes i really need help with that, they are so many details
dialogs: ok so it wasnt just me, i'll have to work hard on that
Lysandre: the lore talks about an order of dragon knights so it has a really deep background explained in the cinematic intro that I haven't done yet
ending: i havent made the ending yet, have to work a lot on the terrain and the camera, but i hope someone want to put a hand on it because I'm a little stuck on that. It has an ending scripted indeed

so again, thank you so much for trying the map ! you make me really happy

i have 2 final questions for you
what really happened with the first murlocs fight? i think its a quit messy yet... was the camera comfortable?
Is there anything positive you would like to highlight about the map development!

PEACE !
