Does anyone know how it actually works

id like to make a tree of life hero that also contains a spell book.
at the moment it constructs correctly as a building hero but when i uproot it it loses the spell book and when i try to reroot it it always comes up "unable to root there"

Edit: just incase
that roots ability im talking about is the one used by night elf buildings

The "Root" ability actually changes the unit into another unit (like transforms it). Take the Tree of Life for example. There is the actual building, and an uprooted version of that unit. If you give the rooted unit the spellbook ability, you must also give it to the uprooted version of the unit.

thats interesting. roots doesnt have an alternate form choice like all the other morphs have and i couldnt find anything to do with animation names on the ability or the tree that would do with the ability except that uprooted is the main animation and rooted is the alternate animation
hmm ill test it on a unit with alt animation

Edit: i was right the root ability automatically puts the unit into its alternate animation
also i tested it with a demon hunter and activated its immolation before unrooting it
its hero skills disappeared but the activated immolation was still in effect
