MiniMage: After a long waiting time, I'm approving this. The texture still leaves much to be desired, but I can't really think of a great way to improve it without a custom texture, so nevermind. Feel free to make adjustments even after approval, however.

The animations is the key focus here. It offers a lot of rather lively animations. Which is neat. So approved.

Is is good but the rook chesspiece is smaller in real life.

Who's to say what size this is, when you haven't seen the board? Until it's associated with a specific board model or map, it can't be "too big". This could be as large as ten spaces, or it could be half the size of a space. And, even if it had a board and it was too big, it can always be scaled to your preference in the editor when you make a map with it. Complaining about the adjustable scale of a model would be like refusing to buy a shirt because the buttons aren't buttoned already.

Criticism that points out real flaws is always helpful, but don't go around making half-assed hasty judgments just to pretend you know what you're talking about.

Give a little effort to texturize them a bit maybe? Add a woody pattern or whatever. They're looking so weird right now.

I do think a wooden variation would be neat, but I think it should be uploaded separately or as a portrait rather than replacement; I think the stone version is cool, too.

Anyway, as for the model, it's really cool, I hope you make the rest! Although the neck is a little blurry, you should work on that. 3/5, but I do really like it; it's just that the rook is tied with the pawn as the easiest piece to make.

And maybe a board. 128 polies for the squares + however many you use on the border, or you could just make two squares and let people build it. Either way, would still have a decently low file size, but it would need to have very high quality wrap to look good at an enormous scale.

If you're Talking About the Board, Hehehe, Only Need 4 or 8 vertex is enough XD srsly,
As for the Wrap, I will improve it future XD

If you used a custom texture, sure, but that would be a horribly disgusting waste of file size. The board would be at least the size of a screen, for a traditional game of chess, or even the size of an entire map. Do you really want to make a custom texture that will still look good at that size and import 500-2,000 KB into a map for a single resource?

Why do that when you can import a 128-poly model with 2 polies for each of the 64 squares? The model would be around 5-10 KB, and it would be able to be of amazing quality as it could wrap an entire wooden, marble, or stone texture to each square separately.

no custom texture is needed lol
go and find this path Textures\BTNtempW.blp

It's Just 2KB XD

This is a Flat one, with 4 vertex XD
if you want a 3D one then it will be 8 Vertex

it would be able to be of amazing quality as it could wrap an entire wooden, marble, or stone texture to each square separately.
For that one seems Yeah.. might need some Extra Vertex for it

In some nearly-perfectly made chess map I saw the chesspiece model using dalaran white marble as skin for white pieces and black marble for black ones (cpt. obvious)
Still, these being teamcolored makes them very useful, perhaps sending everything to hell and making a 8-player chess or something, hehe.
