Hi, I'm a bit rusty, but can program... just started looking into JASS. Anyone know if you can remove a command (like patrol) or an ability button with JASS? I searched in the editor and triggers for quite some time with no luck.

I have created some cool custom upgrades that add passive abilities, but don't have enough room to put them in the standard UI 4x3 command box for my units.

Thanks in advance!

Both patrol and "move" are tied together with "Amov". Generally, the tactic to add an extra slot is to remove the attack button, and then change what the existing move, patrol, etc. do.

Here is a guide that might help:

As for your dilemma, you may want to consider using a spellbook. They are great for passives (they'll still apply even when their inside the spellbook). You can even hide the spellbook if you need the space (but then the user can't read the ability's tooltip, so that is one thing to consider. I suppose you could always add the necessary info into a buff).

This is actually not a bad idea. Wonder why I never thought of that.

Only downside is that changing the tooltips and icons for move/patrol will be global in the game, so it kinda only makes sense in single player RPGs.
