I know this is a sensitive subject for most people, so I'm curious about your opinion. What do you think of religion? No just christianity, any kind. Islam, christianity, judaism, buddhist, hinduism, etc.

I'm curious about your opinions first. I'll post my own after I read some of yours. So let the clobbering... eh... I mean... the discussions begin!

Before you post a thread, in which you seek for answers/aspects/captured notions, have a search through the forum. Religion is an unavoidable theme, most forums contain one thread of those. It can't be just you who came along with this matter. So, we've had a) enough of those threads, b) enough of those opinions and c) enough of those arguments. You can try the latest thread that touched the edge of being a total mess.

Apparently, in most threads like these, people don't only express their opinions, they also show off their writing skills (I make no implications here, it's just a fact) -> which leads to conflicts and quarrels, because they desperately want to find people to agree with them.

Religion is a matter that is proved to be too personal and private, persons shape their own ways of being faithful or not, so, arguing for something that is that personal, will generate everything but a healthy conversation.

The "once a year" limit has already been exceeded tenfold, and to be quite frank I can't see the immediate trouble with the topic myself, but that's probably because I don't notice all the hard work moderators put in to cleanse these threads of offensive material. Thus when I get around the thread always looks civilized. Combine that with the fact these discussions never actually conclude, and Hive's general disgust for everlasting threads with walls of text, and you start praying for closure immediately.

Now, to satisfy the thread-starter, you should look around the forum for the other, closed threads concerning religion. If you're interested, you could start off with the link in my signature: Satanism. It'll be a few posts before the actual discussion begins because it was born out of a colour-debate before it was split. I could link a few other threads if you're interested in more walls of texts, but in the end they're all quite consistent; Christianity is always present, and then there's a few other religions that are being compared to it (in more or less friendly ways).

Feel free to pop me a VM/PM if you'd like to discuss religion with me; there's no need to let these threads run loose in the OT section.
