So, pit them against one another. What will you choose over? For me, RA wins. Why? It's damn released!

Red Alert doesn't look good to me. I don't know why. Maybe just the interface, and the fact that you can't see the action well. I like games like Dawn of War where the fighting is just fun to watch.

Starcraft looks like Starcraft, no different really. It'll be alright I suppose. The modding should be awesome though.

Red Alert 3 fails, fucking hardcore.

When I rather play the prequel than the sequel, then there is definitely something wrong. Sc2 just looks like the same tried Blizzard strategy formula to me with shiner graphics and some new units... the only thing I would get Sc2 for is Battle.net and modding possibilities.

But neither of them are unique, or innovative in any real way... yawn

I will choose RA3 for these reasons;

1. Never been a real SC addict, im totally not into anything having to do with the starcraft universe
2. It will be released in 3 parts... and it MAYBE will be pay-to-play online, it's just a rumor but when i saw it in a gaming magazine i always read i fear the worst.

and i will choose SC2 for these reasons:

1. RA3 is not balanced.
2. SC2 has much more tactical stuff.
3. SC2 has a much better story although i dont know anything of it yet =p

So ... euh, hard descission.. because RA3 is just pure for fun and SC2 is kinda hardcore i guess, i think i will like both games but in the end would pick SC2 just because of the editor.

I'm sure SC2 won't be pay to play.

And the three parts thing isn't a big deal if the parts add enough content, and the campaign is huge. I would except Blizzard to make changes in between.

Yeah the campaign is huge... So would they be able to make every mission fun? Not like, build a base destroy the enemy, retrieve the item, save that guy, destroy the base, hack the computer etc. and then it's over...

Tell me about it, I need a loanjack to repair all those killed walls by my own Apocalypse tanks.

And, technicly we can't really discuss about SC2 because it hasn't been released yet.

i was a big fan of C&C red alert serial >.> at least 1 and 2+exp
but now when the EA mixed his fingers in the red alert... they destroyed the gameplay and everything that Westwood was working on to make that game be one of the best rts game in the world :'(

i think that SC2 will be a lot better then RA3

I heard they pretty much screwed up RA3, but I dunno much about it. I was always waiting for SC2 more than RA3. I think these EA strategy games are all the same since CnC: Generals, they can't really show up anything new, exept the graphics.

I like RA3. I'm starting to dislike Blizzard (damn, WAR's awsumer than WoW).

Also, Westwood originally split off from EA. Then they went back. Thus, it is made by the same people. He, the same director of some of the old ones was back for this one...

Red Alert is awsume; the newest is awsome (my friend has it), and EA is starting to get lots better. One thing to notice: the "underdog" always does best. Blizzard was underdog at one point and now their huge!

+I liekhow they 'linked' the games; you get an exlusive map for RA3 if you have WAR and an exclusive item for WAR if you have RA3 (turns you into a friggen bear! :D)

RA3 was a big disappointment for a game with so much promise.

SC2 on the other hand, is being made by Blizzard. EA has a track record of fucking shit up, Blizzard still hasn't released a bad game yet.
That's what I keep thinking, but I worry about SC2. My guess is the editor and Koreans will save SC2 from bombing.

That's actually what they told me too. I haven't played RA3 yet (and probably won't), but they told me that it was far below the expectations. Not that I am a big fan of the series, I only liked RA2 for a while back in the days and it was for a short time. Starcraft on the other hand has always took a special place in my heart, so I would have to go with SC2 [:

Correct, EA just releases Ultra cool graphic masks and skins to mask up the cheezy game, cheezy story, ironically unbalanced factions and ... Einstein's erased? Long live Nippon!

SC2 because... well... its Starcraft, any game that has been going strong for over 10 years must have a good sequel, what with the near-perfectly balanced gameplay.
Even if the new units skew the gameplay, it will improve with patches.
This was the case with the original Starcraft, and will most likely be the case with its sequel :D
