I am currently developing a game with a couple of friends.
We are quite confident in our idea and we are starting to make progress.
When (if) people begins to buy it or at least play it, a forum will be very nice to have (You need to have it), and I fancy the Vbulletin "style".
I am not fully understanding it though.
Does anyone know or care to explain this to me?

The questions I have is:

Is Hive a "Forum classic" or "publishing suite" or is it both or how does it work?
What is the difference between them?
Do i pay monthly or just a one time cost or after a year/suchlike?

I looked around the FAQ and website. But was hard to understand. My knowledge of english is not the greatest and it is terms I don't quite understand.

Their Homepage

Thanks.

Well, before choosing vBulletin, you need to know few stuff:

1. If you know you won't gain a lot of money, better don't start, as it costs a lot!
2. If you need a forum that isn't as good as vBulletin but still offers very good functions and has a lot of add-ons that you can add, then consider MyBB.
3. MyBB with many add-ons can match with vBulletin in many things and it's all free.

If you want to compare a good MyBB site to Hive, then let me know so I can PM you the link, as the site content is illegal.
(and no, I'm not reffering to my site)

Thank you for your response.

1.I/we won't definetly not buy Vbulletin until we are gaining cash in our hands and has some stable income from the game.
2.This might be a stupid question, but as I stated earlier; I am not that famliliar with coding of any form, Will we be able to give the website its own name? (such as www.elainiel.com) Will we be bound to name the website to (for instance) www.elainiel.mybb.com? Or do we have to get a webhotel for mybb?
3.Sounds very good in that case.

4. Would like to compare it to Hive as it sounds interesting.
