Question about button choices when started in-game map..

Hello, 1st of all, im sorry for my bad english

I need help in identifying something. I played a custom map where after loading the map, it show buttons to choose between 8 races. you chose one and you get to play the custom race

My question are

- are there any tutorial about how to activate the 'button choices' in-game?
- are there any tutorial in making a custom race?

The choises are propably made with dialogs. Check out some dialog tutorials in Tutorials.
