The Quenching mod does a lot of things to improve upon WC3 Reforged and is therefore Approved! (The download contains two files, are they different versions? Perhaps one can be deleted.)
tried that combo too, it also works,

thanks
Yea we need to adapt with what we have.
If I knew about how to configure it myself would have done an update to all the missed thing I also saw & compatibility
Right now for me it work with re-reforged installer (since 2.0.3 this one stopped working waiting update) & Age of Warcraft Mod installer

Excuse me. Is there any news about whether the mod will be updated to be more compatible with 2.0.3?
There's been nothing on the YouTube channel for nine months.
I don't know about any updates regarding this mod. Zorrot has a personal reason, so he's currently off in this forum.

For now, if you want to play this mod on the latest patch, disable both shaders and initial fog options first in Quenching, then start the game from Battle.net app.

This has become a nuisance for me as of late, I used to be able to work around it by disabling shaders, but no more.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you for your efforts, really.

P.S.: As you can see it is not only the odd coloring and the shaders, but the trees being absent as well.

One brief question, apologies: is there a way to allow for selection of heroes in the Collection screen, or does it NEED to be in the Quenching Mod launcher?

Optimal settings at the moment,

1.In general settings, do the following:

2.Turn off the mode in Basic Settings

3.Select version 1.32

When I run the registry and turn off the mod, the terrain is applied but the decorations are not applied.

If you don't turn off the mode, the screen will turn into a rainbow, so you have to turn it off.

Currently, downloading is not possible due to a network error.
You must download directly from GitHub.

1. Download and paste QM2.5.exe into the Warcraft III folder
2. Download the assets zip separately at GitHub - UIZorrot/Quenching-Assets: The assets of quenching by clicking on the green "<> Code" button then "Download ZIP".
3. Use the QM2.5 client to install the assets ZIP (Quenching > Install MOD > Install (under Settings) > Select "Quenching-Assets-main.zip".

4.Included registry registration

Hm... It is hard to notice the difference (perhaps there is not?), but I have found how to enable shaders partly on QM 2.5 at WC3 2.0.3 version. At least it works on my AMD GPU system.

Otherwise, it is enough to delete or rename folder "shaders" -> "shaders-dis", in order to not to deal with shaders.

0. Install Quenching by instructions of others in this thread with Github zip import (like prado12 has described) and go to "path\to\Warcraft III\retail\shaders\ps"
1. Either delete or rename the files disabling them for future use (...one day) by adding "-dis" after the name (ex.: "hd.bls" -> 'hd-dis.bls"):
cliffblightmiscterrain.bls <-- some weird artifacts around terrains.; unplayable on certain maps (like first map of the prologue).
foliage.bls <-- random light from goldmine, perhaps from other light sources as well; weird grass being blue-white; unplayable.
hd.bls <-- portraits are way/too bright; units/buildings are black; unplayable
terrain.bls <-- some issues with light making game too bright; unplayable
sd_on_hd.bls <-- game looks fine, but main menu looks a bit weird when creating a custom game; perhaps issues on classic graphic?

On Quenching Version 1.33+, all those files lead to random texture artifacts (being white-blue-ish), on 1.32 those mentioned commentaries apply ^.

2. Do not forget to change Quenching -> Basic Settings -> Graphics Card to Intel/AMD, if you have non Nvidia card.

3. Test the game.

Good afternoon. Can you please attach the current links for downloading v 2.6 full. I can't find them anywhere, and the links I find are either broken or outdated.

well you can just find them here I think, full patch is still 2.4

when QM suggested about a patch fix, it indicate only the client need to be update, but not the resources pack.
Hi Zorrot,

I just tried 2.6 client with 2.4 assets but the shader/fog pink artifacting still persits (in game main menu it shows "v2.5 installed") I'm on AMD. If i leave both disabled the mod works.
Do you know what could be causing it even after updating?

Thank you

Hi everyone, could you give me the Assets files link that works with new QM v 2.6?
I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you so much for the update!
It seems the card in the top left still says "Successfully installed 2.5" where it should say 2.6

Here are the installation steps:

1. Download and paste QM2.6.exe into the Warcraft III root folder (folder that has "Warcraft III Launcher.exe").
2. Download the assets zip separately at GitHub - UIZorrot/Quenching-Assets: The assets of quenching by clicking on the green "<> Code" button and then "Download ZIP" (ignore the description about v2.4 because the assets haven't been updated since v2.4).
3. Run QM26.exe client, if everything is black without text then close and reopen the client. Change the language on the top left corner (button next to question mark).
4. Install the assets ZIP by going to Quenching (middle tab) > Install MOD > Install (under Settings) > Select "Quenching-Assets-main.zip" (the zip file downloaded in step 2).
5. General (left tab) > Shaders = Off (shaders are not working right now, you will get pink bug).
6. [Optional but recommended]: Decoration = Short (because trees too tall) , Lighting = 3 (because game too dark).

Note: On the top left corner in the game's main menu, you will see Quenching is installed but it says v.2.5, this is expected because the author didn't update this. Screenshot below shows that Quenching is installed on the latest version of Warcraft III which is 2.0.3.

I think it should be the 1.32< shader issue, click "Home" - "Basic Settings" - "1.33+", if it is already 1.33+, click twice anyway, and it should work
Got it, will try that as well.

So if i understand correctly from the thread, only the client needs to be updated & the 2.4 assets will still be compatible with any future version? (both QM & the main game)

Thanks

I've been testing these settings by putting assets from the retail folder into the Previewer, and your configuration has been the only way I can get the mod to stop freaking out regarding textures (except I turned off the shaders, too). Wonder what the issue is with the 1.33+ version.

Edit: I'm not sure if it's a setting issue, but a bunch of the doodad models (several varieties of rocks, and the crates) have this white plane underneath them. Does anyone know why that might be happening?

Updates. The button to open the QUENCHING charts is broken. I noticed this after carefully looking at the retail folder and realizing that everything is inside "Quenching Assets main" (already extracted and placed correctly).

So you need to open the folder and move everything into the retail folder along with what’s already there, including the x86 folder created by the automatic export.

Here are the installation steps:

1. First make sure your Warcraft III is vanilla/original by deleting everything except your Data folder in your Warcraft III root folder. Then click on the settings cog next to the Play button in the Battle.net app and click "Scan and Repair". Your Warcraft III root folder should look like this after repairing (folder has 8 items):
1770974195183.png

2. Download QMClient3.0 which is a zip file called QMC3.0.zip.
3. Extract all the files (19 items) from QMC3.0.zip to your Warcraft III root folder (total items in your Warcraft III root folder should now be 27 items).
4. Download the assets at Releases · UIZorrot/Quenching-Assets by clicking on QMF3.0.zip.
5. Run QMClient.exe in your Warcraft III root folder.
6. Change the language of the client by clicking on the globe icon on the top left corner.
7. Click "Install Full Package" and select the QMF3.0.zip file you downloaded in step 4.
8. Click "Settings" on the top left corner. In the Game tab, make sure UI Style is set to Classic (Quenching UI crashes for me).
9. [Optional] Make sure Terrain Style = Quenching, Tree Style = Short, Lighting = Melee.
10. In the Graphics tab under settings, turn on everything except Half Portrait. You can also turn off Reduced Glow if you want to see heroes easier.

Your game should be playable at this point but if you want to use Vision Mod too then continue with the below steps.

11. Download the latest Vision Mod version at https://www.hiveworkshop.com/threads/vision-mod-reforged-graphics-quality-control-v2-1.359817/.
12. Extract "VisionMod v2.1.2.zip" to somewhere outside your Warcraft III root folder because you might want to customise some settings for Vision Mod first before installing Vision Mod because it will override things and is irreversible so you'll have to start over if you mess up.
13. Inside "VisionMod v2.1.2" folder is a file called "AllowLocalFiles.reg", run this file to fix your registry.
14. You can read "Install Guide.txt" to find out what changes you can make to Vision Mod.
15. [Optional] If you want to keep using the new icons instead of the classic icons then in your "VisionMod v2.1.2" folder, open "retail" > Open the folder "replaceabletextures" > Delete the folders "commandbuttons" and "commandbuttonsdisabled". Go back to "retail" > Open the folder "ui" > Delete "widgets".
16. When you're done customising Vision Mod, proceed with copying the whole "retail" folder from your "VisionMod v2.1.2" folder to your Warcraft III root folder to override the files inside Warcraft III's "retail" folder. For me, I had to copy 2924 items and replace 139 files (I deleted Vision Mod's classic icons).
1770976434103.png

17. Open QMClient.exe and click "Settings" on the top left corner. In the Game tab, you have to reinstall the UI by setting UI Style to Quenching or Blizzard and then change UI Style back to Classic.

To confirm everything is working, start a custom game as human and convert your Peasants into Militia by clicking Call to Arms. If your Militia is using an axe, then Vision Mod is working fine. If your Militia is still using a sword then something is wrong. If your UI is messed up, then run the game with UI Style set to Blizzard and then close the game so you can do step 17 again.

Note 1: I can't seem to use the custom Hero skins from Vision Mod nor the official Hero skins in the game's Collection screen except for the Spoils of War skins (the first row skins). However, Quenching's Hero skins still work at "Paints" on the top left corner of the Quenching Client.

Note 2: I tried installing Vision Mod via the Quenching Client under Settings > Graphics > VisionMod Path but it didn't work for me which is why I used the copy and paste method to install Vision Mod.

Little update: Running the game from WE now shows correct version of the mod, I reinstalled the mod, but still the WE is showing original models, it's kinda weird that it's not even showing reforged models but wc3 orig models xd, also tree models are invisible in WE, tnx for replying!
Update 2: I deleted everything from WC3 DOCUMENT folder, now the World editor is showing Quenching assets, only one error which is not relevant: netsafe ui skin something, but i guess it has to do wit modded slk files, anyways all is good :D
From my observation, those "netsafe" stuffs are normal in World Editor. It's something that Blizzard broke in one of the patches, mainly the model format used for HD assets.

Also, double posting in this forum is illegal.

Hello, good afternoon. I wanted to mention two errors I noticed when installing the mod: when using the classic interface, the background appears black instead of its team color, and the portraits appear excessively bright.

I don't know what to do about the black background but the bright portraits can be fixed in Options > Video > Portrait Bloom > Off:

The changes this mod brings are insanely good, in the best way. My only complaint is that the trees lag a lot when you have full vision of them with fog of war disabled. It’s not really a ‘weak PC’ issue, because my PC isn’t weak. I tested with friends too, and it’s the same thing with the trees on TALL.

To be clear, it doesn’t lag during normal gameplay only when fog of war is turned off and you can see a ton of trees at once. Other than that, this mod is perfect. The launcher UI is great, it’s super easy to use, and the shaders and textures themselves are amazing. And with the new Vision update, this mod easily surpasses the original content graphically without completely changing anything performance-wise. Absolutely brilliant and it deserves way more visibility than it currently has.

How can I properly remove the Quenching Mod? Because the resource files of Warcraft III: Reforged are not showing up in RMS and CASC Viewer.
In Battle.net app, there's a "Scan & Repair" option which allows you to replace modified resources with the original one. You have to do this after removing the mod.
