Please Help Me With My Map!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!

I have a HUGE problem with changing the damage of units. It makes no sense to me, it's all gibberish with the "number of sides per dice" and the "damage of sides" and blah blah blah!! Please please please someone explain to me how it works!

So could you give me an example pleeassse? Like Say I wanted 5-6 damage.

Change damage base to five. Change number of sides per dice to 2. Change number of dice to 1

I think that should work

Er, no, then the damage base should be 4.
It'll be 4+1 for the low-end and 4+2 for the high-end, thus, 5 to 6.
