how do i make phoenix fire to shoot out from the caster into different directions when the caster is in the air???

Couldnt you just change fly height and add the phoenix fire spell to the caster? or are you talking about beams similar to phoenix fire that target the ground around caster?
1. Animation fly height ### and add spell=phoenix fire
2. Animation fly height ### and Create dummy units with timers and order them to attack random point within the area ability is being cast on (based off an aoe spell)
