I have a Network Attached Storage that I use to store all of my games.

Running Warcraft III v1.26a it runs just fine off of the network, however if I try to open Warcraft III v1.31 it won't open, it just gives this error; (The application encountered an unexpected error.) I've tried the x86 .exe, and the x64 .exe. I've also tried running as admin. Not a single computer will open it, windows 7 and 10.

v1.31 Game runs fine on my computer, might ask for the CD Keys every now and then, and by god I don't run the Laucher.exe or else I'm forced to Download reforged. But running off the network it just gives an error.

Update: reading the error log, I found this, which basically looks like it will not run on a network.

Kind of interesting cause I have around 40 games on my NAS and the only two games/launchers I had issues with was the Epic Games Launcher and The Blizzard Launcher, which would not let me install them to the NAS drive. However with the Epic Games Laucher I was simply able to move it to the NAS drive after installation, and any games I install from the laucher I am able to move onto the NAS drive as well.
However with the Blizzard Laucher and only the Blizzard Launcher, after moving it to the NAS Drive I am able to install one game and then both the game and the Laucher seems to corrupt the file folder, with a size of 0 bytes, that denies me access to it if I try to open it; the folder simply just sits there mocking me, as I am unable to delete it.

Is Blizzard simply just opposed to running their games off of a NAS drive? Like is playing games off a NAS viewed as some obscure way of pirating games, so Blizzards just like Noooo .000001% of people could possably be playing our games for free, well we can't let that happen.
I mean I have Diablo II and Starcraft and those run just fine off of my NAS, it's simply just new Blizzard games.

Did you try other Blizzard games? I don't personally have a NAS drive setup, but if you can get the big-name games like World of Warcraft to run on the NAS -- and if it turns out the problem is only Reforged format of Warcraft III install -- then my guess is that it was simply laziness on Blizzard's side and not something intentionally prevented.

If World of Warcraft also does not run from that location, though, then maybe it is some intentional thing on a high level. That would be guess, just from reading your post. Like I said I don't personally have a NAS though. I am just brainstorming in case it helps at all.

I tried both World of Warcraft and Diablo 3, but both of them I tried to install from the Blizzard Launcher. Which doesn't want to work on the NAS. Although if there are versions of WOW that don't require the launcher maybe, just maybe it might work.
