I never liked the planet models available here on the hive, so i decided to make my own set. This is supposed to be a generic arid planet with an atmosphere.
To add a sense of depth, these planets have a modeled shadow effect tied to the head bone. This means you can control the orientation of the shadow by locking the "head" body part facing towards your star/light source, and the planets back will be shaded! If you also script your planets to orbit around the star, you will get a really cool effect. If the planet is static, you can ofcourse just adjust its facing instead.
The cloud texture, which takes up most of the space, is shared with a few other planets.
I like all of these, but I think many of us would have appreciated it if you had uploaded them a bit more gradually, say, four per day, so as to not totally flood the model section. With this many in a row, people are much less likely to look at each one individually.
OR: people can now get a nice overview of all of them, not to mention download the pack straight away. People who want to look at other models need only to press "page 2".
