Particle emission rates in 3ds max?

Hello.
I have lately grown tired of having to redo my particles every goddamn time i find some kind of flaw that requires the model to be reexported, so i have decided to learn how to finish everything i can in the max file.
I have found out how to make stuff such as event tracks for event objects, but now i am trying to figure out how to make animated emission rates for particle emitters. Does anyone know how this is done?
thankful for answers.
