Well, this is a mod that relies on multiple maps. If I used import manager the maps would be super gigantic. By having it neatly condensed into an MPQ, I have the benefit of not ever needing to touch import manager, map files stay small, and being able to upload many files at once instead of one by one in tortmentuous succession.
But for an MPQ I need to know file paths much more strictly than even this site, and with custom textures being a nightmare, I am admittedly a bit hesitant to use anything with that.
Most models go into Units\Race\NamedFolder\
For example: Units\Human\Phoenix\
But the few times I got it to work, I had to put model and texture into matching paths in the mpq. This makes me think the Import Manager creates an MPQ kind of, but does it all for you at cost of map file-size bloat. I believe that if you specify something of the path to be like Human\Phoenix\FelPhoenix.blp it might work for my end, but Im not 100% sure on that.
Either way, I'll keep trying things.
Welp IDK what's wrong, seems to display fine here

No idea about mpq changes though, that seem a bit extreme for a straightforward import like that
Edit: I think it actually needs both FelPhoenix and FelPhoenixEgg textures imported in order to display
Okay! Okay! I figured it out, I found that if I just generically place the textures and model into the very surface of the whole mpq it works.
But, that being said, I'd rather have a full file path so that it... looks a bit better. If you don't want to do that, I understand. This is just a preference thing, but if it had the path of like the texture being demon\felphoenix\felphoenix That would probably make this a lot less weird for my end of this. Its also a bit bright and seems a bit TOO just-green, which I feel could be complimented by some end-feathers being black and/or bleeding to orange, like an inversion of the existing model.
Either way, thank you for the model, I finally got it to load! Import Manager for some reason didnt work, but the mpq method did and thats whats important to me, you've done more than you were asked to and Im very thankful for your efforts! You have done what Ive needed done for years, and I can't thank you enough.
