I'm starting working with outland terrain but I cant seem to get it too look very good. are there some terrain textures that I shouldn't use? because I'm not able to get the abyss to look real it always looks fake. Anyways if anyone has any tips on how I can make outland terrain look good that would help a lot.

Yeah, post a screenie or the map so we can see it. I have never "pro"-terrained Outland, but i will try to give you some tips.

-Try to use much fissures.
-Make the roads (if u use) natural, not usual stony ones.
-I have never used it, but fog.
-Floating things, anf other magical looking things. Remember Outland was once a planet, but it has been torn apart and looks a little weird.
-DEMONS!!!

Outland isn't my specialty to work with, though it's pretty easy to make it look like a desolate world and can be nice for making caves some times.

I can't really give much advice when there is no screenshots to base my ideas upon so, until you post your screenshots of your terrain, I am useless to you.

I've got a little piece of terrain I can post but It's been a while since I've been working with the editor now and I kinda forgot how to rotate my camera view in the editor so I can get a better screen shot position. If someone can remind me how to do it I'll post screens. Cant believe I forgot -.-

EDIT:Sorry. Forget that question Added the screenies. Tell me wut u think

Those look pretty good!!

It looks empty in some way, i don't know what Outland tileset has, but try to add like shrubery, props or just small things just around doodads and trees, it betters the effect, since doodads don't have the ground thing like buildings.

And an other thing might be more fires, and more roads, natural roads.

Ya the reason there are empty areas is because I only filled 2 areas of the map. One corner is the village and the middle is a large abyss with the mountain you see in the middle. I wish there was a blood grass type doodad because I think it would look good massed instead of massing the outland plant but I think I can figure out how to get the plants to look good.

There accualy is fog but you cant tell its there. Anything that was higher than linear just turned the screen red so I left it how it was. You can kind of see the fog at the mountain top but only if u look carefully. Anyways does anyone know of any custom models that have an outlandish feal to them. I looked and looked but I couldn't find any that would soot the terrain.

I think Outland is kind of ugly, so I don't care for this work. It looks pretty decent though. I would like to see more from other areas.
