Orcish Clan Wars

Command your clan!
Be the strongest and destroy the other clans to obtain victory!


Orcish Clan Wars is a strategy map, kinda like an altered-melee but every time you start the map new terrain is randomly generated.
You control a clan of orcs with a food limit of 20. You hunt animals to get gold and when you grow enough you can try to obtain victory by defeating all other clans.
To defeat a clan you have to destroy their main Clan Hall. There can only be one winner so even allies in the end will have to ''-unally'' to determine the winner.

This is my first map uploaded to the hive. Hope you like it and don't forget to tell me what you think.
This map took me several days to create, I like working fast :D and this will not be the last version, changes will be made but I need feedback for that to happen!


Note: there is no AI for the moment, I need someone to help me out for it or time to make it myself!

Approved. Despite being so simple, the generation of the terrain looks quite nice in the end! Good idea with the cooldown timer on the gold income! The hero is quite basic, and the techtree is not very advanced either, but I can see how this could be...

Great map, Love it!
Do you plan to add new things ? (like new units or heroes (players could chose the ''kind" of warchief they want at the start of the game))
Some minor suggestions: More variety of doodats (bushes, rock formations, geysers, fissures, cactuses and so on...) , more variety on wildlife, maybe some neutral encampment with centaurs...

Hi,

Cool map, played it in single player. I'll try natural selection next.

(Why does your profile say you have only one map when clearly there are at least two? (This clan war map and the natural selection project)

Made a noob mistake: I built a totem right next to my clan hall. They both provide the same endurance aura so the cost of the totem was wasted. Should've built it farther* away.
(I associate that icon not with health regeneration but move and attack speed bonuses, by the way. Unholy aura's icon would be better.)

Found one bug:
Frenzy can not be trained. Tried twice, two attribute points were lost. (So my level 3 hero only has one level 1 ability, and no points on the Hero Abilities [+] button.)
Without Frenzy, I can't keep up the pace with my Wolf Riders at all. Also why is my hero weaker (hp and armor) than the riders?

Proof for the bug: At level 4, I have two level 1 abilities and no more available points (because Frenzy is not trainable):

Ah this map, I kind of abandoned it, Natural Selection is post poned atm, I'm working on another map. Natural Selection is very developed but it is still not uploaded, it only has a forum thread. Orcish Clan Wars was a fun and good map but people did not enjoy it enought for me to continue to make it.

Nice to see you're still watching the thread though! That was a quick response.

It's a good map, I legit had fun playing it. But have to rate it only 4/5 for now, because of that ability bug. Very serious imbalance, knowing about this issue gives returning players an unfair advantage over newbies. (Knowing not to pick a broken ability gives you a leg up vs new players who do try to pick it. Edit: And end up wasting ability points...)

Also why isn't that presence aura giving armor to self? Like devotion aura gives armor to the paladin itself too, I think.
Being the warchief must feel just as good (+2 armor) as having the warchief nearby (+2 armor). Presence applies to self.
Example: Put on a good suit and you immediately start to feel good about yourself, it's not just for other people's benefit.

Yes, I do agree with your points. I'd love to finish this map someday, unfortunately I've lost the files to it and I'm not sure it's going to be worth it. I'm thankful that you played it, I hope you had fun doing it. :)
