hello. I just want to ask a simple question.
I am currently making a campaign and I will add sounds to the dialogs. Mostly extracted from WoW. However I am not sure if I should use sounds that "kinda" fit.

For example
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/pastebin.php?id=hzhfgz

this sentence would not make sense to use for an alliance character ofc but should I use a sound like that for a human character. It does not really sound like an orc but not really a human either.

would it be ok to use many different actors for the same character too? It can be 3 human voices but 3 different actors, what would you prefer.

I am in my tablet so I cant yet listen to the sounds but about different dialogue sounds for a character, I do think it will not do well and you should avoid that unless if you really want a sound for each dialogue and you dont have a choice but to result with this.

I would vote for depends. It would depend, if you are in need of a sound dialogue and cant find anymore that best fits... well, your choice would be to choose it but as possible, don't.

EDIT:
For the sound there, it's a bit of neutral so it will either work for Human or Orcs, no problem at all here.

thank you both for the opinions.

@hellmaster
well I didnt aim for every single dialog with a sound. That would be too much rip off and boring too. And yeah I think such sounds would work with any race pretty much.

@maker
note that I will likely not use sounds that cover the whole sentence. If the sentence is "greetings my old friend, I have not seen you for many years" I would play a sound saying "greetings" would that still be a annoying?
Maybe if I just put those "random" sounds in the first sentence of a cinematic or something? because I think it brings the cinematic to life even if the sound doesnt fit perfectly.

I don't think you should use sounds that kind of fit. You should use sounds that really fit a certain character. And it's also better if a character has only one voice. (Or you can make it have its Warcraft 3 voice if it has one, and use the WoW one in cinematics, like I did in my campaign)

In all the campaigns I've played, I honestly prefer it when there are no sounds. Partly because sometimes the sounds don't fit, and partly because, well, it's jarring to go from professional to amateur voice acting.

Going with WoW voice clips on a unit... sometimes it works, but sometimes it's just awkward, like when they refer to you as "heroes".

well I understand that you cant bring too many different voices into one character. But tbh I dont hear much of a difference between many different human voice actors.

@cleavinhammer
So far I only use short sounds. Like "follow me", "thank you", "I will handle this". And I actually use other sound files aswell but those are a series of sounds that fit together (same actor and same dialog inside WoW)
