Sorry for my ignorance, I searched and googled it and I am assuming the answer will be a 'no' this late in the game, but it's worth a shot imo.

Do blizzard have any plans or are they even considering making the beta 'open' or 'public' at all? Even just in the last few days...

Thanks in advance for any info, like I said I'm expecting a no, so you don't need to go in detail.

Cheers .

They are planning on load testing their servers just before release, so do expect a lot more people to be in the beta.

Ultimatly they do not want a public beta as you will almost imediatly get advertisment bots advertising in it like in anything free and public.

Additionally, some venders of the game are offering beta keys for people who preorder. If you really want the editor I advise searching around to see if any near you have this offer. I expect more and more venders to bring this offer out as you basically are going to buy the game so why not have it eariler.

They are already constantly stress testing their Battle.net servers by resetting their servers in order to simulate a release scenario. So I doubt they will increase the player count dramatically at all.

I remember reading from one of their employees on their forums that the reason for the resets and the recent liberal key give away was to increase the numbers of people on their server to simulate release senarios.

Basically they need to reach a certain breakpoint to check that their servers will handle the situation efficiently (scaleability test). If that passes then it will cope with even millions of people (with enough servers).

Yeah, sadly I'm in the EU/UK and it's only amazon.com (us version) and Gamestop.com (us again) that have this offer.

Guess I'll just have to hope for a key

Thanks anyway! +Rep all
