It is Singleplayers because there is more than one group member. Singleplayers like to be sociable... just not in their gaming. This is an expression of that.

It's not really necessary. The thing to do would really be to discuss singleplayer-related activities of some kind. Like giving up weeks of your life to Morrowind or how terribly un-singleplayer-friendly SC2 is.

Well the main problem with social groups on the site in general is that there's no way to subscribe to the threads in them like you can normal threads, thus to see action in them you actually have to check the social group - something most people are too lazy to do.

After a spurt of activity people just stop checking and the group becomes silent

I do agree that social groups need subscription or whatever, but they're not really meant to be buzzing with activity; that's what active threads are for. They're more like... repositories.

I got to level 42 or so before deciding that there was no enemy alive that could harm me and that kind of ruined the fun (PC, unmodded).

It took me about three weeks of my PS3 being worked 15 hours a day to do this, and I gotta say, even though my Skyrim freezes after 5 minutes of gameplay now, I think it was worth it.

Having said that, the ratio of singleplayer-to-multiplayer projects in the Map Development forum does seem to have increased over the last couple of years from 0:infinite to 1:billion. (Not that that's any indication of how many will ever be completed, but intentions are a start, right?)

Simple, there are only few people that will play your map on multi-players. Singleplayer maps are the recommended maps this days since you just make it for yourself or for your friends then just released it here, and don't actually care if someone will play it or not. Multi-player maps needs bot to be played this days.
