There's this map that i am working on, that needs abilities that a scientist can use.
He looks like this:

any feedback on how he looks or the abilities he has, will be appreciated.

He doesn't look like he belongs in that environment. They don't really work as undergardments either.

As for abilities, what kind of map are you running? Survival? Assault? Mystery/Puzzle? What are the enemies he must engage, if any?
I ask because it would affect the kind of abilities he'd be using.

Let's see... Giving out spellbook-type ideas, each in their own domain.

Chemistry:

Explosives
Gases (sleep, toxic, nerve...)
Combat enhancers (potions, stimpacks...)

Mechanics:

Repair
Robo-Goblin (adapted to whatever the map will be)

Electricity
EMP (stuns mechanical units)
Arc Lightning
Taser (stuns biological units)

It really does depend on what sort of scientist he is, and what sort of map you're making.

Here's some classes I'm considering for my current sci-fi project that you might find useful, but it's possible that little if any of this will be suited to what you're trying to do.

Biology:

Heal organics
Cure status effects.
Inflict status effects.
Create summon creatures.
Turn humans into cyborgs and vice-versa
Test DNA of other players.
Tamper with test results.

Quantum/Theoretical:

Percentage damage (gravity or radiation type things).
Transportation (blink, mass teleport, activating waygates).
Mini-nukes.
Lasers
Plasma torch (lightsaber).

Engineering:

Item creation/mixing.
Weapon/armor upgrades.
booby traps.
Repair damaged machines.

Electronics:

Opening security doors.
Using computer terminals too sophisticated for other characters.
Communications (repair radios and signal artillery support.)
Upgrade cyborgs/robots.
Hack terminals to behave oddly.

Astrophysics/aeronautics:

Pilot/navigate spacecraft/aircraft.

Feel free to let an engineer implant things into your body if you want, but when it comes to the actual installation, I want a real surgeon.

Ideally, you'd want a team of specialists (Engineer, Programmer, Neurologist, Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, etc.) to fuse organic life with cold metal, but that isn't going to play smoothly on most maps.

Good point (though nanomachines, that ever-favored plot device of writers, could make a good replacement). But it seems to me the medic has a lot of abilities, if he goes down the party is screwed, so spreading talents out seems safer. At any rate, all cyborg ugrades and repairs should go through the engineer.

Since it's presumably sci-fi, there could be a Mutologist. Why use lifeless machines, when you can shape the body itself? WCIII engine wouldn't support sprouting edditional limbs or tentacles, but enhancing inner organs could be useful.

hmm you need to tell us what kind of game you're creating first and how the game works.
