Looks pretty cool, though I'm finding the background/tree area to come off a little plain compared to the rest of the terrain.

Yeah, maybe you could add a sky or some fading hills/blighted trees.
The house itself looks great, even friendly if not for the occasional skulls.

Skulls are friendly, the problem is that skeletons are lying on their job and are giving bad impression.
