My map got overwritten?

Hello,
I am a bit confused. I was working many hours on my map and always saved it in the map/test folder as WorldEditTestMap. I downloaded another map today in the forums and opened it and then tried opening my other map and it asked me something to which I pressed yes and it loaded and then opened the same map under the same name.

So it got overwritten and the new map I just downloaded got saved as WorldEditTestMap. I dont know why it did this but can I retrieve my map somehow? :/

WorldEditTestMap is going to get overwritten, you should have picked any other name :|

If you used Newgen, there is a backup folder that contains the last 26 saves (coded by alphabet... best sort by date to find the newest backup of your map). You can use this to retrieve your map.

If you didn't use Newgen, you're screwed.

oh...i do use JNGP. Alright...i found the map in the backup folder z.z holy moly...lucky me

Let me... ask you a very simple question.
WHY DID YOU USE THAT NAME?!?!

In any case, apart from NewGen, you may find your map in "earlier versions" of the folder.
It is a backup made by Windows now and then that stores files in magical time traveling folders.
