David you should work more on the contrast and brightness. It can really increase the quality of your work.

Keep in mind that this doesn't work all the time.
Over-contrasting images doesn't give satisfying results. Always test various settings, and stick to what you think looks best.

However, note that sharp edges of blades need harsh contrasts ot create the proper effect. Compare VS's adaption with your base icon. The adaption looks much sharper.

Actualy remember that icon becomes much better if there is a best angle and ideal border size are chosen for ur object. Cuz currently this spear looks like shovel with some shit-face on it.

And take a look at the background. it is around of 60-70% of ur icon. That is realy. REALY bad. Try fix it with changing angle, design or something in ur icon, let it not be more than 25-30% (of a whole image).

Finaly, dominating color should be more neutral or passive, or hardly contrasted with the other part of icon.

i know that is sword or sword-spear, but cuz its.. mhm... undefined and looks not dangerous - it can be named "shovel" :)
Also, when u showing design of an item - try make it more static (i mean the red tail is unnecessary). And only when u should show an action or "something happening with the item" - u can use abstract lines to make a according background.

Something is wrong with my computer, the button manager does not work but here have a tutorial from me : Now first of all download the button manager http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/tools-560/button-manager-v1-8-2-a-116280/ , then save all the images you want such as the ones you want, then just import them to the button manager and add those " tiles ". BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT go get the litle sized icons from my album : http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/members/214358-albums6123-page2.html Too bad I don't have 64x64 on the abstract ones but I think you can do that. When you do the thing in the button manager just save them as blp. After that just go to your world editor and import them there to your map. Sorry you have to do this all by yourself but I seriously need to reinstall my computer...

Actually for me, as long as I can get the icons (I couldn't careless if I do it myself) that's all that matters. Thanks David!
