I like what you've done with the sun... For a beginner it's rare to see any sun.
BUT the tree/other plants are so terribly located.. :/

i like that sun. What Model is that ? glows ? glue screen ?

btw not that bad lighting wise. The actual terrain itself is not to goood. i suggest you continue looking around the Hive terrain forums and observe how the "pros" terrain their terrain. ITs one of the ways i have learned.

What? The lighting isn't that great, even with brightness aside. The sunspot things kind of look more like the sun is shooting a purple laz0r, but it's a great attempt for someone's first time.

Oh, and the edge of the map thing...fog might not fix that with certain angles unless you put the fog really close, and be careful of that because that can turn out bad too.

The lightning looks kinda cool, but it's far from realistic. The tiles are awful, every doodad you placed looks spaced out and most of the trees look out of place. The variation between trees is too great and overall gives out a bad feeling. The sun looks awful as if it's gonna fall off and burn everything any second. The sun flares are as I stated before are kinda cool but aren't something amazingly impressive or realistic. Those corals spiking out of the water are awful and you should change the water with water planes so it looks better. The sky is okay and the camera isn't too great.

The suns actually pretty impressive and the colors and effects look good even if they are a bit to bright. I would definitely advice you to look at others work and make the placement of your doodads and terrain much better as they are just random placed. In real life it would not look like that.

uaaaaa what the hell were you thinking?

now to constructive criticism...

- the doodads do not fit together.. there's a forest tree in a beach! next to all the palm trees...
- sun is badly positioned, can't be infront of the camera
- can't see the water with all those trees! :(
- terrain is too boring and flat, make hills and place your palm trees near it (with rocks too).
- the camera is badly positioned, way too close, it has to be back to show your work.
- the position of the trees... they are too close to each other, make some room.
- use diverse tilesets

good luck!
