Multiplayer Emulation?

Is there any chance of multiplayer emulation coming back? I found it to be such a useful testing feature and it's made testing things much harder not having it. I can't for the life of me get 1.26 working again so this would be a great feature to have added at some point assuming it's still possible.

I think it's perfectly possible, and maybe some people even have private tools for that, but I haven't seen anything public yet.

As an alternative, you can run WC3 inside VMWare or VirtualBox. It's somewhat resource intensive, but if your PC can handle it, it's an option.
